SP3 Slipstream Product Key issue

Recommended Posts

Hello all!

I am slipstreaming SP3 into Windows XP Home using nlite and I get an error about any Product key I try. (I have multiple machines I am trying to fix) I don't get any trouble with Windows XP Pro using the same SP3 file.

When I just use SP2 Slipstream it works just fine. (the install CD is already SP2)

I did integrate 77mb of driver data, would that effect the acceptance of the Product Key?

Anyway, hope someone can get back to me!

I believe SP2 and SP3 keys are different, or am I reading your post wrong?
Huh? AFAIK, legit keys that worked in SP2 should work in SP3. Are you sure you didn't mean to say "XP Pro and XP Home keys are different"?

cgimana, please attach (not paste) your Last_Session.ini file and please make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, to do all of your work in one nLite session (using the latest version), and to integrate only one service pack. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit.

cgimana, I agree with gamehead200 on SP2/SP3 keys. If you ran under Vista to create an ISO for XP, that is probably your problem. Another possibility is that MS apparently put some more checking for invalid keys into SP3. When we see your attached Last Session, perhaps we can comment further. Adding 77 MB of drivers should not have caused a problem. Enjoy, John.
