b-man Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 what the best program/s to convert video files / edit them
CoffeeFiend Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 There's about a billion different programs, and none of them is the absolute best at everything. Some are great at non-linear editing, special effects and the like, and full of advanced features.Others are just 1-click converters that are meant to be easy to use for people who have no idea what they're doing.Depends what you want.
b-man Posted June 20, 2009 Author Posted June 20, 2009 i know theres a billion thats y its so hard to find a good 1nothing too fancy just want to convert from 1 file to anotherand edit with the basic cut, trim export audio function
DigeratiPrime Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Look through the free software sticky topic, there are a number of good video editing apps there.
CoffeeFiend Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 I'll second DigeratiPrime's post. It's worth a look.nothing too fancy just want to convert from 1 file to anotherand edit with the basic cut, trim export audio functionThen again, that still depends what formats you're going to/from (DVD format, mpeg1/2/4 asp or avc files, NTSC or PAL, etc)
Tripredacus Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 The best all-around converter that I've found is TotalVideoConverter. It has limited editing ability and the timeline isn't 100% on the ball. But for batch conversions it works fine. Its not free tho. I also have another video editor that came with a WinTV card, but I don't remember what it was called. Or an old version of Primere LE that came with something, I think Iomega's old media thing... I guess this doesn't help much lol.
