my point is how to start CHMOD.. i already use the search engine.. but i got hard time to find it..

i dont know how to start it.. coz i need to edit something using it.. kindly plz tell or show me how to do it

It's not even a Windows tool. A google search or Yzöwl's link would have told you that much. In fact, I considered moving it to the "other OS'es" section (it clearly had NOTHING to do with programming), but it seems more like you're trying to somehow use it on a unrelated platform instead. No idea what you're trying to accomplish either, especially since you use an outdated OS that doesn't even have ACLs in the first place.

Second link is probably what you need. I have to second (and third) the other posts here, though, as your answers were very easy to find on google (first three links answered both questions, each in a different way, so hopefully you'd find one that meets your learning style. Why, may I politely ask, are you asking these questions? Was there another question or problem that prompted these questions?

haha, this thread's got it all.

i am so curious as to who told him he needed to chmod something and what it was and where it was.

perhaps he has a website?

If you got to figure some files on your FTP (that where CHMOD is needed), simply use Filezilla.

It`s got options to set CHMOD by some simple clicks on files or folders.
