anirudha Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I was going through one of the kb article on MS website "http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314459" as per this website it is recommended that the answer file should be kept on floppy , can we also keep the external drivers (for example BusLogic scsi disk driver) in floppy so that while installation it will load all the drivers from floppy with out user input.(such as F6).So we dont need to slipstream the iso image for loading the external drivers. If yes , what will be entry we need to add in winnt.sif answer file.
Tripredacus Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 You already have created a thread for this topic:http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=133975
anirudha Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 Yaa, but previously I didn't knew about the MS recommendation. If MS recommend this way , then I think there might be some way where I can provide the drivers through floppy. In my privious thread I created some confusion so it was bit difficult to understand so here I tried to post the same prob in a simple way.
jaclaz Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 (edited) Yaa, but previously I didn't knew about the MS recommendation. If MS recommend this way , then I think there might be some way where I can provide the drivers through floppy. In my privious thread I created some confusion so it was bit difficult to understand so here I tried to post the same prob in a simple way.And here also, you will be told:a. that since someone must be there to insert the floppy it isn't actually "unattended", and in any case "unattended" means that once started, you can leave.b. that you need to press F6 if you want to load drivers from floppy (can't it be the same one that inserts the floppy?) F6 also happens in the first few seconds of the installIt doesn't look like you are making any progress. An alternative is:http://mindstorms.lego.com/NXTLog/projectd...iewcomments=allit can be greatly simplified for pressing just F6. B)jaclaz Edited May 21, 2009 by jaclaz
