  1. Hi all, I am trying to autoinstall the Win2k8 server. I have used vlite to create the answer file. I have not added any extra driver to the win2k8 iso. But still it take more than 4 hours for the installation. Any suggestions on this. How can I reduce the time for autoinstallation, not very sure if i m missing anything here. please help me in this. -Anirudha
  2. Thanks for u r alternative , but i cant afford it . I had prepared the setup but now my XP getting BSOD'ed after installation, so need to break my head on this again. Thanks alot for u r help.
  3. Yaa, but previously I didn't knew about the MS recommendation. If MS recommend this way , then I think there might be some way where I can provide the drivers through floppy. In my privious thread I created some confusion so it was bit difficult to understand so here I tried to post the same prob in a simple way.
  4. I was going through one of the kb article on MS website "http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314459" as per this website it is recommended that the answer file should be kept on floppy , can we also keep the external drivers (for example BusLogic scsi disk driver) in floppy so that while installation it will load all the drivers from floppy with out user input.(such as F6).So we dont need to slipstream the iso image for loading the external drivers. If yes , what will be entry we need to add in winnt.sif answer file.
  5. Ohh, then that is gonna be prob for me. Well thanks for your help. Now I will have to look out for some other option to perform these things,
  6. No, I am not pressing the F6 to load the driver. but just want some way where the installation will look for the drivers in floppy automatically. Is there any entry that I need to add in winnt.sif which I placing in floppy ?
  7. lsi it means , lsilogic disk driver. XP doesn't have this driver inbuilt,
  8. Thanks for taking some time to reply. Ok let me try to explain it once again what I am looking for. As I said I am performing a setup for unattended XP installation. I tried customizing the iso and pushing the lsi drivers inside the iso along with winnt.sif . It worked fine for me. But my requirement is , I am not suppose to customize the iso that means I am not suppose to push any driver inside the iso. As I am providing the winnt.sif file through floppy , the same way I wanted to provide the lsi driver through floppy. I prepared the floppy with the driver and winnt.sif answer file but its not loading the driver from floppy. I need a help whether this is possible to provide the driver through floppy for unattended installation of XP Or not ? . Or can you suggest me some other way to performed this without customizing the iso, just provide the drivers through floppy. Please reply .
  9. Hi, I have a requirement to perform the unattended installation but my problem is this that I am not suppose to customize the winXP iso. I wanted to provide the winnt.sif through floppy , and also need to provide the lsi driver through floppy. I have tried many other ways to perform this scenario, but could not get any success on this. Can any one please give me some suggestions, whether it is possible or not Or what alternative can I have for performing the unattended installation without customizing the xp iso image. Any suggestion will be great help for me, please suggest me something on this, Just would like to explain my scenario once again, 1. WinXP unattended installation, but now suppose to customize the ISO. 2. Provide the winnt.inf file through floppy, (This is working for ide disk desktop) 3. Also provide the disk drivers through same floppy drive. (Need suggestions on this, how can I achieve it.) Suggestion will appreciated .
