control other comp.s on network

need to access and control other computer on my home network so i can turn on and off the INTERNET from the laptop. a few other things i would like to be able to do as well. any chance there is a free program out there for this ??

WOW! How about Remote Desktop, supplied with the operating Systems!

Works for me!

It's also very useful for "work at home", provided Management approves Administrator to allow it on your Work PC.

B) dose Remote Desktop come with XP or Vista or both ?

VNC can't control Internet, your router has the settings usually to control times people can access the Internet.

my router dose not control anything, its just a switch point. i have dial up, so the router just passes ICS from the desktop into a wireless signal for my laptop to access.

if i had cable or DSL the router would control INTERNET, but with dial up i need the desk-top to dial out for the net.
