March 17, 200917 yr If you just formatted your hard disk, something worth a try as first thing is TESTDISK:http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDiskBe aware that if you re-build your filesystem and it contains a virus, it is possible that you re-trigger it.To recover single files from RAW data, you can try using it's accomapanying app PHOTOREC.jaclaz

July 18, 200917 yr TestDisk is alright if you're running a Unix-based system and have no other options as far as freeware goes. However, if you're running Windows, Recuva is excellent! Edited July 18, 200917 yr by kahlil88
July 18, 200917 yr Ontrack or Testdisk. While Recuva is nice, keep in mind that it only works in Windows, so it's not useful to recover data from DOS or cmdline.
