patalete
Hi, I have a toshiba laptop and it comes with a recovery disc, but i dont really like it cause its install tons of progams than I dont really need. The installation takes too long and then I have to spend extra time uninstalling all those apps..then apply the microsoft updates....I would like to know what options I have, to create a clean installation disc (its Vista32 home premium) that only install the needed drivers and basics programs, and also slipstream all current updates till these days...(and that fits in one dvd only.) this is the structure of the dvd recovery disc:F:\05378XR1.crcF:\05378XSP.swmF:\05378XSP2.swmF:\05378XSP3.swmF:\05378XSP4.swmF:\05378XSP5.swmF:\05378XV1.crcF:\EFIF:\HDDPREPF:\Setenv.iniF:\ToolsF:\bootF:\bootmgrF:\sourcesF:\EFI\microsoftF:\EFI\microsoft\bootF:\EFI\microsoft\boot\bcdF:\EFI\microsoft\boot\fontsF:\EFI\microsoft\boot\fonts\chs_boot.ttfF:\EFI\microsoft\boot\fonts\cht_boot.ttfF:\EFI\microsoft\boot\fonts\jpn_boot.ttfF:\EFI\microsoft\boot\fonts\kor_boot.ttfF:\EFI\microsoft\boot\fonts\wgl4_boot.ttfF:\HDDPREP\bootF:\HDDPREP\bootmgrF:\HDDPREP\sourcesF:\HDDPREP\boot\bcdF:\HDDPREP\boot\boot.sdiF:\HDDPREP\boot\etfsboot.comF:\HDDPREP\boot\fontsF:\HDDPREP\boot\fonts\wgl4_boot.ttfF:\HDDPREP\sources\boot.wimF:\Tools\XcludeCRC.iniF:\Tools\crtdll.dllF:\Tools\imagex.exeF:\Tools\vRecoFastCRC.exeF:\Tools\zlibwapi.dllF:\boot\bcdF:\boot\boot.sdiF:\boot\etfsboot.comF:\boot\fontsF:\boot\fonts\chs_boot.ttfF:\boot\fonts\cht_boot.ttfF:\boot\fonts\jpn_boot.ttfF:\boot\fonts\kor_boot.ttfF:\boot\fonts\wgl4_boot.ttfF:\sources\boot.wimAt least point me to the main steps to start with..I will try to find out the rest over here thanks Edited December 24, 2008 by patalete
jaclaz
.swm files should be parts of a bigger .wim file:http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=114830http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=89955http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=109293http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=107920But they could well be crippled/encrypted/whatever:http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=127624your mileage may varyhttp://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=121676jaclaz Edited February 25, 2010 by jaclaz
patalete
thanksenglish is not my first language...but will take a look into that .edit:ok, I tried renaming the .swm's to instal*.swm and moved to sources folder, then opened vlite and it started merging. after the process a new .wim file is created but now when opening with vlite it says that boot.wim is lost and shows up an error like one of the post you previously told me...and that post still has no answer about that issue since august...http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=121676also here aabout same error without response..http://www.msfn.org/board/Question-Asus-SW...es-t109293.htmlgonna try with imagex merge method.... but by now I cannot merge all part into one...only conver one part to wim....
