atolica Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 (edited) Hi allI just modified a windows xp distro with nlite and making it unattended, entered the pk, personal data in unattended fields, but I am still asked to enter it. Winnt.sif is where it's suppose to be, in i386 folder.Any thoughts? Edited October 29, 2008 by atolica
tym Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 Try it again. Take your time and read everything. It could very well be you forgot to check a box or put in the serail in right. Double check your work. If you still have no luck, give a shout back.
atolica Posted October 29, 2008 Author Posted October 29, 2008 No go. I am using nlite since "ever" so I know how to use it. Everything is checked.
atolica Posted October 29, 2008 Author Posted October 29, 2008 ) XP distribution aka a folder in which a valid operating system reside
atolica Posted October 29, 2008 Author Posted October 29, 2008 Also Guirunonce is not running(it ran just once). I rebuilt the iso 3 times and still no go.
Ponch Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 ...and does the key work with those same files before the modifications ?
atolica Posted October 30, 2008 Author Posted October 30, 2008 It's my legit key bought from MS. Of course it works. I didn't say it doesn't recognize the pk, I'm saying the pk fields are not filled in. Like the winnt.sif it's not being read.
Ponch Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Legit or not, product keys are linked to specific editions of XP and do not automatically work with "a" distro, hence the request for this basic information which still adresses half of the questions about this sort of problem. Other welcome info is the unattended mode you are using or an attachement of your "Last session.ini".
atolica Posted October 30, 2008 Author Posted October 30, 2008 The pk is verified. I already built a working nlited xp+sp3 distribution that ran smoothly once. For some reason the pk is not filled in, and I am asked to fill it in. And guirunonce is not starting as it should and did.GreetsHere's the Last session.ini.Last_session.ini
atolica Posted October 30, 2008 Author Posted October 30, 2008 (edited) What do I have to do so winnt.sif will kick in during vmware installation? Edited October 30, 2008 by atolica
Shadowmeph Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 I am having the exact same problem and also have done everything that has been said to do in this post, could it be the nlite version ( 1.4.9.1 ) I am using? I think I am going to try an earlier version to see what happens
