I just don't get how some people put their whole windows vista DVD onto one CD!! I remove all the components i can using vLite 1.2 Final (the latest version), and still the iso file comes out to be around 800mbs!! What am i doing wrong??

Can someone please tell me what components should i remove so i can fit vista into one CD...?

Thankz

maybe because you didn't use the extreme switch. Just know one thing if you want to use a stable version of vista i don't suggest you to remove all the components.

Becarefull otherwise you will come back to complain about something not working

HOLY COW = Vista Home Basic SP1 with EVERYTHING removed is now down to 422.5megs

Thats even without using the -extreme switch...

Edit = Vista Ultimate SP1 is 424 megs with everything stripped out

You are really missing a step somewhere bud!

What is that "Extreme switch" and how does that help?

Do i really need to get the Windows Home Basic edition to make a Vista CD?

I've seen Windows Vista Ultimate edition in a single CD!

Which are the most important components to safely remove?

Thankz

Right click any vLite shortcut and choose properties

Now add -extreme after "C:\Program Files\vLite\vLite.exe" like this

extremejx5.jpg

This will open up some hidden removals like .NET Framework

Care to post your session.ini file? Also is that the x64 version? The gentleman with the celeron sure would have liked to have that iso :)
