2) The drivers included in beta8 versions, BTS mass storage drivers pack, are NOT to be used with nLite, no idea why and what are you doing with them and why mentioning them at all, if that's not misunderstanding in first place.

3) I have no clue when you get BSOD, what drivers you backup and why, and whether you did disable rdummy service or not.

4) My recommendation remains the same- use the very latest version available, ignoring if it says Beta, RC, Alpha or whatever.

heya,

long time i wasnt here...

anyway, since my 2,5" hdd suffered from vodka where i was drunken i bought a new one and now i need to do everything from scratch and research again how to do, i had it perfectly but i made it years ago

so i like to use the newest version RC8, and the first problem which i have with it is, it doesnt recognize the free/total space

i have 3 partitions, the 1st one is my active boot partitions and where i put many tools like acronis and something

2nd is just for XP Editions

3rd for W7

i made this partitions with acronis

but winsetup says 0 Bytes...

If you know how to integrate BTS mass storage drivers that would be a safer bet since it's longstanding and tested solution. DPMS uses the same drivers set, but in a different way. It wouldn't hurt at all to have DPMS included as well, if you decide to add a source without mass storage drivers integrated, since the menu is optional anyway.

Attached is a simple VBS script,taken from here, using WMI do enumerate logical disks and display their properties. Can you run it on this machine and see if it returns logical disk size and free space properly for the USB disk in question?

Remove .txt extension so it becomes "LogicalDisk.vbs" and double click on it.

is there any changelog from winsetup?

Will post it when finish with the RC versions.

No it doesnt detect "Free Space" and "Size" they are empty, everything else okay

hm is it possible newer version uses something which i removed with RT7Lite?

It uses WMI for the purpose, which for some reason does not work reliably on this machine.

In previous versions for disk size and free space were obtained from AutoIt functions DriveSpaceTotal and DriveSpaceFree.

In next RC will go back to AutoIt or WinApi functions, as a workaround for broken or buggy WMI, thanks for the report.

ah okay, i see on my last session from rt7lite "wmiApSrv=True"

this should the problem on my machine so its not really a problem from winsetup...

should i use RC1 instead now?

yess now it views the size correctly in GB, though in MB is better or in real it doesnt matter? when an ISO is for example 720MB and winsetup say 0,7GB it may not work or?

Only displaying in GUI is in MB, GB and so on according to the actual bytes. Internally, all sizes are in bytes, so if it doesn't complain about lack of free space all should be good.

iam not really sure how to do this what i want, though i just need a push in the right direction because i already have known that, rusted and confused iam :/

i want several W7 versions in my last partition, i already made an AIO ISO but i want for example in my bootmenu W7 Ult x64+x86 Lite, Unattended and Full and maybe one for Preinstall Apps

i just can remember it was very easy...

same for XP, what i have done now:

first i used bts base and integrated a few drivers, then i run nlite and made 2 versions of this folder (lite, "full")

then i added this line in winnt.sif on both folders cause its removed when using nlite with unattended options

last i used winsetupusb for both version and selected shared bts drivers

i tried and this work anyway but i can remember i have used last time for example the lite version for 2 other edtitions like Lite Unattened and Lite Preinstall Apps and only with other winnt.sif file but same sourcefolder so i dont need to waste space, u know or maybe iam wrong and it wasnt possible...?
