tech_girl Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 (edited) I have installed nLite1.4.6 on my Windows Vista machine and I now realize that the system requirements for nlite excludes Vista. So now I would like to remove nLite but I am not able to find it in "Programs and Features". Im not able to find the entry in the registry as well. Is it safe to just delete the program files? If not, can someone direct me as to how to totally remove it from the system. Thanks. Edited June 29, 2008 by tech_girl
Happy-Dude Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Try finding the uninstaller in nlite's Program Files folder. It should be an .exe file and should say uninstall.exe or something of that sort. (If you can't find it, try installing over it and looking for it again. Or, try a third-party program uninstaller, like CCleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com/)For the Vista version of nLite, look here: http://www.vlite.net/
Ponch Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 I now realize that the system requirements for nlite excludes Vista. Not exactly. nLite will only modify Windows 2000, XP and 2003 sources but will run under Vista.

But there isnt any unistall.exe though. Edited June 30, 2008 by tech_girl

So if I want to delete it, I can just delete the files, right? Edited June 30, 2008 by tech_girl
hairy coo Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 So if I want to delete it, I can just delete the files, right? No you cant uninstall that way-vital remnants will be left over.Suggest you reinstall the same over the top of the existing install-then check again as there definitely should be an uninstaller present in the Programs/nLite folder. In any case,go HERE and download the free-Revo Uninstaller, excellent and should show everything.
Guest Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 But there isnt any unistall.exe though.Yes, there is. It is named unins000.exe. It can be found in %ProgramFiles%\nLite.

Both times when I re-ran the installer, I was away from the desk and then the third time I re-ran the installer I saw it being unzipped. *red-face*. I realized I downloaded and installed using the zip installer, hence no uninstall file. My apologies. Edited June 30, 2008 by tech_girl
slobus Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 So can anyone tell me where they see uninstall file here?
Guest Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 You probably used the zip file. Hence no uninstaller.
