njven Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 (edited) Anyone knwo anymore PE Builders beside the ones listed:UBCD4Win http://www.ubcd4win.com/Bart PE Builder http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/REATOGO http://reatogo.de/REATOGO.htmRemoved - Contains warez (free licensed programs)WinBuilder http://www.winbuilder.net/news.phpCorrect me if any of these are warez =)For those for don't know, a PE (Preinstalled Environment) Builder is a program for taking a Windows Operating System--commonly Windows XP and Vista--that normally requires a long install, and turning it into an operating system that can be burnt to a CD and then started (booted) directly from the CD, and boot into a usable operating system that doesn't require installation. Typically when these boot, they create a RAM disk, a hard drive sort of partition in the RAM (memory). Once the computer is shut off, the RAM is cleared and nothing happens to the computers hard drive. Edited June 10, 2008 by njven
Nuno Brito Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Hi njven. One correction if I'm allowed:WinBuilder is not a XP based PE builder like the other mentioned projectsIt's an engine meant to run scriptable projects for any sort of results based on windows - let it be XP / Vista, etc.Look on wikipedia to read more about available projects: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WinBuilderMost noticeable ones at the moment are VistaPE and LiveXP.So, WinBuilder is an engine which boot disk projects can use for creating their intended results, almost the same as calling autoIt to GImageX simply because it was written in autoIt while there is a big difference as you may agree. It is mostly popular with Windows PE alike boot disks but it is also employed in customization of Windows Installs, take a look on the UXP project for example: http://www.msfn.org/board/project-uxp-t113249.html

jaclaz Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Also, though not strictly speaking a "PE builder" applications, this is a very handy way to boot a minimal "recovery" system:http://www.boot-land.net/forums/?showtopic=3806http://rescup.wordpress.com/jaclaz
