Tarun Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Which product do you have installed for an antivirus?[ Moved to Malware Prevention subforum ]
Arie Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 I assume that the topic starter believes that Windows XP comes with built-in anti-virus software, but this is not the case. Microsoft does offer a free anti-spyware application named Windows Defender, but this does not protect against virusses. Windows Defender updates via it's own built-in engine as well as via Windows Update or Microsoft Update. It is advisory to install an anti-virus solution yourself. There are various applications out there which will cost you money, but there are also several freeware alternatives.
