ok downloaded MOHAA from edonkey for trial purposes, why buy the game if I don't like it, for all you warez haters.

Now, I extracted the BIN file from the download, I was using the Gowenna download. I used ISO buster to extract the files. Now when I go to run the setup.exe file I get an error this error:

the only idea I have is that the download was crap and I need to redownload, again for testing purposes.

The same thing happened to me with a copy of moto racer 3.

I eventually ran the setup exe in 98 comp mode and the error went away.

Compat mode, tried running the setup in CMD prompt, tried unzipping it again using the RAW extraction method. etc.... am currently redownloading, but I still have to old files if you have any more suggestions.

Have you virus scanned it?

But I just doing a full scan of my system, and used live update for the latest virus definitions. No viruses.

Finally, simple thing really, all I did was restart my machine after a driver update. It works, and the game is awesome. The voice overs are kind of cheesy, especially the "helpers" in the game. It's one of the best I have played so far!

no man u dont want to use iso buster ! u should download "daemon tools" from gamecopyworld.com it lets u mount a cd image as a virtual drive

Thanks €L1T€ for the suggestion. I shall head on over to the game patch capital of the internet, and download daemon tools. SOunds like what I need! So, my question is this then, if it mounts your ISO, BIN etc... as a drive, then does that mean you don't need the CD? as in the no cd cracks etc...? Forgive my ignorance on this topic, I should really do my homework.

u will still need no cd patches they are there for a reason.if u dont want to use no cd patches i suggest u try downloading the clonecd releases of games instead of the popular bin releases Fairlight and Deviance do i think its dino that release the clonecd versions

I will keep that in mind the next time I go to download some appz. I don't mind using nocd patches, they tend to work well! I just thought if it mounted the image as a drive, that it wouldn't ask you for the Cd, but yeah thanks alot for the info. What is your take on the Class and Myth rips of games? Worth downloading? I have about 3 games downloaded from Myth and two from class. My take is basically they are good for those with limited bandwidth. It takes hella long to unpack too.

yea class and myth rips are okay if u just want to test a game to see if u like it b4 downloading the full cd version.

i say test because alot of rips dont work to good and can often crash alot although most u try should be fine

have you tried the multiplayer out? Is there any other way to play it besides that stupid arcade crap that costs 20 bucks? I would like to play an online slaughterfest. Any suggestions?

booger, add the update patch, if you dont have it PM me its on my ftp server. you can then browse for games from within MOHAA, also.. you dont have to pay $20 for game spy - i didnt

but if you patch the game you wotn need it anyway. we have been playing this online for a while now.

also, in future with bin files, extract the BIN and CUE from the rar files, then use FIREBURNER and burn it to disc. saves problems... thats also on my ftp. id love to snipe you in the face so get on with sorting it all out!!

is there anyone on the forums with a beter upload speed than 128k? cos i can only support 4 users, be good to have a forum game or 20

Was it a warning that it couldn't find a US version of MOHAA on your hard disk? You need to run the regfix before running the updater and copying over the mohaa.exe file.
