Hardware detection software?

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a program that's similar to Lavalys' "Everest" software.

Everest often detects drives incorrectly, because the SATA chip behaves as if it was an IDE chip.

Before anyone suggests using SIW, it often does the same too.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

Freshdiagnose is another one but I hear you now have to register it, looks like it is still free though:

SIV is one I have tried. It isn't as souped-up graphically but is a good viewer. There are also update modules for devices to add-on:

There was a good one called Aida32 that came in standard and an enterprise version, both were free but it probably wouldn't be accurat anymore because of the advancement of tech and it likely wouldn't be compatible with windows vista. Older versions can be found still online.

The SIV recommendation was a good one.

It seems to be an great standalone utility and accuracy seems spot on.

Thanks!
