skizo Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 I'm looking for a program that's similar to Lavalys' "Everest" software.Everest often detects drives incorrectly, because the SATA chip behaves as if it was an IDE chip. Before anyone suggests using SIW, it often does the same too.Any other suggestions? Thanks.
jcarle Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 How are the drives being identified incorrectly?
rjisinspired Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 (edited) Freshdiagnose is another one but I hear you now have to register it, looks like it is still free though:Freshdevices:http://www.freshdevices.com/freshdiag.htmlSIV is one I have tried. It isn't as souped-up graphically but is a good viewer. There are also update modules for devices to add-on:http://siv.mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/There was a good one called Aida32 that came in standard and an enterprise version, both were free but it probably wouldn't be accurat anymore because of the advancement of tech and it likely wouldn't be compatible with windows vista. Older versions can be found still online.Standard:http://www.majorgeeks.com/download181.htmlEnterprise:http://www.majorgeeks.com/download183.html Edited December 15, 2007 by rjisinspired
nmX.Memnoch Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 There was a good one called Aida32That's now Lavalys Everest. Here's the old Aida32 site with the announcement.
skizo Posted December 19, 2007 Author Posted December 19, 2007 The SIV recommendation was a good one.It seems to be an great standalone utility and accuracy seems spot on.Thanks!
