Recommended Posts

Since there shall be some trouble with searching for drivers we had to do something. There are drivers which are currently still under development or are being modified to work.

If you are an author of this driver, or you have link to this kind of driver please report it here.

Example:

KX Project

Group: SoundCards

Specifications: Universal driver which supports All EMU10k1 and EMU10k2 based soundcards. Includes Soundblaster Live 5.1, and audigy, or EMU series with those chips

Type: WDM

Please report ALL Win9x drivers which have been released for devices which are not supported by the manufacturer.

Dell 720 printer drivers for Win98SE. :thumbup

I haven't got anyting to do with that site so I can't guaranty that it'll still be there in a year, but links are as valid today as they were 3 years ago and method works (it's more complicated than just grabing the drivers). I tested it. The Dell 720 is a modified Lexmark 601 (cardridges tops also molded differently so you have the choice between buying Dell's or using a sharp knife). Printer alignement doesn't work with that modified driver (you can still align them with an XP machine).

I read somewhere that if a driver is written for the WDM model it should work on Windows 2000 and Windows 98 (as it was the first OS to support WME drivers)

I wonder what the truth behind the statement is?

Here are a few links to people that know the ins and outs of drivers may find useful????
