blunden
In my experience, several SATA optical drives, no drivers were needed to load and complete windows xp setup. I believe this is because the motherboards are emulating SATA as IDE. Well, they also work fine connected to controllers running in AHCI mode for me. I have only tried a Vista install from it yet though.
