paulftb Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 I had a hard disk failure, and cannot get the system to recognise the XP cd as bootable, can I format the hard disk as a USB drive from another XP system? If so, how, or are there utilities I can use?I have looked everywhere I can search, but come up with nothing...
LUZR4LIFE Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 The CD is probably not bootable, maybe it was corrupted. I would use another PC to rebuild that XPCD.
paulftb Posted November 12, 2007 Author Posted November 12, 2007 I have four XP CD's and none of them work, but the CD reader worked last week...
jaclaz Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 If you have a 1 or 2 Gb USB stick, or another hard disk and a USB enclosure, you may go this way:http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=61384&hl=Latest files are here:http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...1384&st=423but do browse the thread's last three or four pages to get more info about the process.jaclaz
