mitsukai
do u really think iexplorer core will waste any ram?and are u sure u want to remove it? because alot of applications depend on it..
BigDaddy
according to VORCK's site yes. And I also agree. The laptop with the following specs works great with the slim down Win2k.PIII 1GHz128MB RAM10G hdd.So every MB counts. But would still like to fix the WINRAR issue? nuhi
Yes I am aware of this Winrar issue, noticed it when the selfextracting exe is ran there is a big delay until it's started.Haven't tried to fix it yet since I considered it as a dependency...and weird one, I mean if it didn't start ok, but it goes slowly...what's up with that. cohok
I also run a stripped down version of win2k and have the same issues with self-extracting rars. If I need a self-extracting archive, I use 7-zip (http://www.7-zip.org/). I also use UPX to compress the 7z.sfx file to make the 7z.exe file smaller. moogt
HiJust a quick comment. As far as I know Winrar does Not use the IE core. At least it does not on Win98SE with out the help system or IE installed. THAT SETUP I have used a lot. You use the Win95 shell instead of the 98 shell with IE. Have run Winrar without any problems on it.Edit added Not Edited December 1, 2007 by moogt
