  1. Hi Just a quick comment. As far as I know Winrar does Not use the IE core. At least it does not on Win98SE with out the help system or IE installed. THAT SETUP I have used a lot. You use the Win95 shell instead of the 98 shell with IE. Have run Winrar without any problems on it. Edit added Not
  2. Can you make an unattended CD and have it activated when installed for a retail copy of XP Pro SP2? If so What files from the computer that is activated do you save to be used on the CD? I'll Explained this way: 1. Build my own computer 2. Bought retail XP Pro SP2 - file dates 02/28/2006 04:00 3. Installed the OS and all drivers 4. Now ready to activate - will do later today 5. After it is activated - what files do I need to save? 6. Want to make a CD for this computer only, so when I do reinstall the OS I will not have to activate it again. Here's something that maybe interesting. I have an older retail version of XP Pro SP2 for another computer - file dates 08/04/2004 04:00. I made 3 folders and copied the files from the cd's to them so that I could do a byte by byte compare. The folders 2006a had the files from 2006 cd, folder 2004a and 2004b had the files from the 2004 cd. I compared 2006a with 2004a and delete all duplicates that where in 2004a. I then compared 2006a with 2004b and deleted all duplicates in 2006a. That's the only way to find out what was changed between 2006 and 2004. Here's what's interesting: Total files different from 2004 to 2006 is 53 files. Total files different from 2006 to 2004 is 55 files. Now here's the kicker, the Dotnetx files have different dates, are not the same byte by byte, BUT they do have the same names and the exact SAME version numbers. Can anyone explain why you would change the files and then keep them the same version?
