nikini
Ok.. this is the thing.. I just bought my new dell laptop and it has a pretty good configuration. It came with vista.. The video card is ge-force 8600 gt so it's pretty good. The problem is everytime after boot my screen flickers twice afterwich everything is fine. I thought it was because of a program or something. I stopped a lot of programs from startup but nothing. A friend of mine told me he has the same problem and it's because of vista. Is it true? Can't it be cured somehow? Please help.. I think my laptop will brake if it continues to flicker like that.
Kelsenellenelvian
Its just the video card and the cards drivers checking resolution and crap.Nothing big to worry about.
nikini
hmm.. very weird.. also.. everything loads really fast and the antivirus (mc afee) takes about 20 seconds to load.. what the hell? Is it vista or mc afee.. I'm to confused.. Also.. I will install a new driver. That should fix the problem.. you say..

nikini
I've updated Windows Vista. I've updated my display driver and it still flickers. Could it be because of the touchpad software? Or because of the bluetooth software? Before these 2 start it flickers and during the loading of mcafee. What the hell?
razormoon
If you're concerned about loading drivers, software and such try Run >> msconfig, disable everything and start enabling one by one.
dubsdj
maybe try altering your refresh rate.. maybe put it down to 60hz and see if that helps

With my GeForce 4 Ti, that only occurs if I overclock it with CoolBits.
Leviathany2k
maybe try altering your refresh rate.. maybe put it down to 60hz and see if that helpsThis is the solution, when the laptops screen flickers is because they are refreshing the data.Updating the drivers to the latest version from the manufactor not the reatiler helps a lot and increasing the refresh rate on you screen properties.
