Woomera Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Anyone knows of a handy/small video recorder for wow with output format options? preferably free.i have tried fraps but doesnt have format options so hal-size option is very low quality and full-size makes the file size so big and i dotn wanna go through the convertion process.so any ideas?
rawrbear Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 The problem with formatting in real time is that it takes a chunk of CPU time just to frantically store raw data, never mind resizing and encoding or some such. Hence the 100% or 50% options.Unless you have a rig that can play WoW twice over (in which case, PLAY A BETTER GAME ), you should just record in full-size, then slap it through a DivX or Xvid encoder. Doesn't take too long.
puntoMX Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 ... you should just record in full-size, then slap it through a DivX or Xvid encoder. Doesn't take too long.Indeed, or H.264, that would be even better (Speed, quality)...
Ludwig Von Cookie Koopa Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Well if you mean to record directly from your PC I suggest pulling the video threw a composite to a electronic recorder or another computer that will record the data. Then maybe a desktop recorder. Also recording a RAW will not hurt the recording at all unless the game takes a chunk of the CPU. RAW files will just take up more space. All you have to do is convert the file to a smaller media type.
PC_LOAD_LETTER Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 seriously fraps and then encoding is your best option. the only other way is to configure a tv out/second head (if your vid card has one) to output to another PC to do the recording/encoding/uploadingi had a guildmate that would record his vids that way -but that was just so he wouldnt have to quit out of wow to encode/upload the vids to the guild site.
