I am in the market for a 19 inch lcd not wide screen. I want to get the best for the smallest amount of money because of my budget. I dont care if there is a tuner on it but that would be nice. Any ideas?

Actually I would insist on a 20", not because of the size, but because you get 1600x1200 resolution which will be especially important as Windows becomes more resolution independent. Plus that size at that resolution gives you 100dpi, which starts giving you some great fidelity. I recommend:

Best Quality is: Samsung 204B for ~$300 @ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16824001226

Good Price but lower resolution: Acer 20" for $190 @ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16824009109

If you keep looking around you can find some great monitors /w reliable reviews:

If you look around you can find it on Google products for $271 but make extra sure it's not "open box" as you have to assume any open box LCD has dead pixels (that's why it was returned and there weren't enough dead pixels for a factory repair so the company just resells it).

Why get a 19" when a 17" has the same resolution? Are your eyes getting bad (I sell 19" to people that have less good sight, mostly people above 50 years...).

51 Years, wow... I just became 33 ;).

What did you use before or are still using for a screen? Also good to know for us; for what are you using it besides moding your OS?

I am 51 years young, but in good shape. My eyes are not bad. I might consider a 17 inch. Thanks.

I like the 20" idea. More screen area.

Also, if you just need any screen, you can find even 15" ones. Its usable.

Hard to find now, and if you find them they have the same price as the 17" models ;).

I have two Dell Ultrasharp 19" monitors (not wide screen) at work. I really like this because it is 1280x1024 and I don't think that I would like a much higher resolution because it would look too small for my eyes. Since our servers run at 1024x768, I can run UltraVNC and see the full server screen w/o it having to take up my entire desktop space. This is a huge plus for me.

Its not the resolution. Its the pixel density. How many pixels/area.

Trust me. A 1920x1080 LCD-TV that's 60" is not 'too small for your eyes'.
