turned on the pc today and the screen started inverting colors at bootup. The disk I booted was actually a linux disk, but i usually run and prefer windows. Just a question before i go trying a new monitor, is this monitor related or video card? And don't say you don't know until you test it.

i checked the cable, seating, bios and monitor. video card is definitely going, glad it didn't completely go, because it could be really bad for your system if it did. thanks for the replies.

Most "non-web" shops will help you when it’s 12 days after warranty... They will avoid lawsuits, and yes, you can win one with a big chance: "Life expectations were to short!"

Monitors USSUALLY give warning before doing weird s*** like that though.

Are you sure? Does it look like a bunch of squares and/or letters with random colours on the BIOS and DOS screen?

That sounds just like the Radeon 9800 Pro that I gotten back in late April.
