Octopuss Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Does anyone know about any such utility? I simply cannot use Nlite on my work Windows, but "need" the tweaks...
Legolash2o Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 look on google - i cannot say what to type in on google cos i make my own programs for tweaking.
AgiHammerklau Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 There is TweakUI (freeware) and for commercial use there is XPlite.Agi
Octopuss Posted August 28, 2007 Author Posted August 28, 2007 XPlite "only" removes components afaiktweakui sounds familiar... I am not sure. I'll check it out anywya.
IrfCore Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Would be cool if nLite could be set to apply tweaks on the installed windows
Octopuss Posted August 28, 2007 Author Posted August 28, 2007 absolutely!!!it's by far the most advanced tool of such kind.
Legolash2o Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 (edited) Would be cool if nLite could be set to apply tweaks on the installed windows If you want i could make a program with all the nLite tweaks which apply to current installation instead of XPCD? EDIT:Would be easier if someone could list some other tweaks and what registry entries they want addedFor example: Paging Executive - Already done this one lol, lets you enable/disable it tooKey = "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management"String = DisablePagingExecutiveValue = 0 - disabled, 1 - enabled Edited August 28, 2007 by legolash2o
IrfCore Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Sure, but I probably won't need it nowI'm sure others will want it.What do you say people, should legolash2o do it? After all, there are a "few" topics about tweak and settings after installation
Legolash2o Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 lol if enough people want me to make one then ill try, pretty simple so far its just getting the values from nlite.inf which takes the longest lol
AgiHammerklau Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 I don´t think, you need to grab them from the nlite inf. There are several RegTweak Databases on the net already. Some of them also have the .reg files in their downloadsection. So they don´t have to be converted anymore, to be applied.Agi
Legolash2o Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 ill would be using the ones from nlite, because i want them to be added first, then ill add custom tweaks later or if someone would want a certain tweak on it then ill do that first.
Legolash2o Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 (edited) XP, but will probably work on 2003 too (x64 too). The hardest part is starting off so shoud be ok after a while. But i prob wont start it until enough people want me to make it. But if anyone suggests any tweaks then it will have there name on it so you'll be credited for it. Like any suggestions on layout of the app would be nice too. Example:Tweak1 [AgiHammerKlau]Tweak2 [irfCore]So far (for ideas) got Tabs, with each tab being called "Boot and Shutdown", "Performance", same as nlite really. Then each tweak is a tick box which at the end you click apply. At the right hand side there is a list of what tweaks was applied and which ones didnt which saves having millions of message boxes saying "This has been apllied" lol.Pic below is what i created to see what im getting myself into to lol Edited August 28, 2007 by legolash2o
Octopuss Posted August 28, 2007 Author Posted August 28, 2007 Hell, just make nLite tweaks applicable to existing installation, people will love you There are so many tweaks in nLite that I find it hard to think of anything else we would need,.
