Simple text screens before the video starts or Hollywood-type effects?I personally use Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.Instead of asking what others use, try out some trial versions on your own and see which one suits you best. Obviously, some applications require a steeper learning curve than others.This link may be of some help to you. It's a list of freeware and commercial editing software alike.
