cooling for gpu, arctic s1 vs x2 or other recommendations

well the sapphire x1950 pro doesn't overclock well :(

the fan also doesn't seem to cool the card too well, temps hit 70 C idle  (even after changing the speeds in ati tray tools and rivatuner)

so i've been wondering, is it worth it getting a new cooler? i figure it will help overclocking and fix the temperature problem?

the coolers i've been looking at are the arctic accelero s1 and x2 (well x2 + voltage regulator heat spreader module which is required for the x1950 pro)

so the price of the s1 comes to about £11.33, inc vat, exc delivery and x2, £12.57, inc vat, exc delivery (both from ebuyer.com) and $1 exc delivery for the vr heat spreader module (only needed for x2)

so my question is, does the x2 outperform the s1? it's just that i couldn't find any temperature graphs that show idle temp and temp with heavy load for the s1

or would anyone recommend other gpu coolers that cool well but don't have a heavy price tag? i need to save up after getting a new psu and graphics card. preferably under £15.

thanks

btw i do have a spare slot under the gfx card if a cooler needs to take it

I would take the X2, it has a fan on it that is very useful.

Do you want to keep your warranty? Then go for the X2 but remember that it won’t OC that much more.

To OC your card you need to do some hardcore OCing like adding a voltage modification ;).

well i need the cooler because the fan is sorta faulty anyway

i'll check if the x2 will fit in my pc, it looks huge and the psu came with so many thick cables...

any other suggestions?
