Possibly using the 7600 like ripken said, but Intel is definitely the way to go for current performance and future upgradability. I think that keeps you under the $1000 limit. Zxian
I don't own it myself, but I've worked with it before. As long as you're not dealing with tons of drives (2 or 3 hard drives is manageable), then this case will do just fine.
nmX.Memnoch
I find your choice of the P5B curious since the P5K is out now and will give further future upgrades...plus it runs about the same price. DigeratiPrime
it all depends on what is meant by "high performance", do you mean for video rendering, gaming, other? If I had a $1000 pc budget I would probably spend half that now and the other half next year and buy a new machine. Rather than spend it all now and have it depreciate faster.Regardless I reccomend these two things:PSUSeasonic, high efficiency and active power factor correction. I've seen it for less elsewhere.SeaSonic S12-330 ATX12V 330W Power Supply - RetailMEMORYI have this stuff, its good. DigeratiPrime
^ Ultra prodcuts are poor quality imo, and TD has high shipping charges. All their stuff you linked to seems over priced too.

weEvil
How about the price after taxes and before shipping?People live in different places and thus shipping may be less or more. Huge variable. Equipment cost for the same component... not so much.
nmX.Memnoch
NewEgg generally quotes a flat-rate shipping amount. If you order more than one item you'll usually get a shipping discount. So my list, for instance, would probably be a little cheaper if all parts were ordered at the same time.
Messerschmitt
yea unfortunately us sites don't ship to canada nor vice versa.Btw, I just build my own system which I want to order it tomorrow or monday, since all these prices expire on 3 July (they are slightly discounted vs original price)! I'm constrain with my budget so I actualy did want to get my rig around 1000$What do you think about this system? Will all this be compatible? What about the motherboard? It's the only P35 I found, and unfortunately it only has 1 x16 PCIE, the other one is x4. Also the IDE connecter is way to the bottom of the mobo, so I am almost sure I will have problem hooking up my DVD-Rom.P4 E6600http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku...mp;promoid=1055Asus P35 mobo - read some reviews says it's a bit unstable, don't know exactly if this is a good choice especialy that I do plan to overclock in the future once when newer games will start to be even more demandinghttp://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku...mp;promoid=1055Corsair 2GB 800mhz 4-4-4-12 - 40$ mail in rebate as well til July 1st, thats why it's important to order by tomorrow if I am going tohttp://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku...mp;promoid=1055OR OCZ 2GB 800mhz 4-4-4-15 - 50$ mail in rebate. This is about 30$ cheaper than the corsair. But is it worth it considering it has the tRAS higher with 3 units? (Don't really know what is the difference performance wise when gaming)http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku...mp;promoid=1055So which one would be the best RAM option between the 2?Seagate 500Gb 7200RPM SATA II 16MB Cachehttp://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku...mp;promoid=1055The case + 450W PSUhttp://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=19066ORThe PSU 500Whttp://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku...mp;promoid=1055(For the record I can use the same case I use for my current spec, so it's an option)Please advise about this system. Is everything compatible? Is it overcloakable? (I have 0 knowledge about overcloaking but I can start studying later)Thanks friends Edited June 30, 2007 by Messerschmitt
ripken204
dont skimp on the psu, get the ocz ram and put that 30$ towards a better psu. both sets of ram are basically the same, you won't notice and performance difference.
