rainyd
Looks like from this article that it's theoretically possible but really difficult to run DirecX 10 on the Windows XP: http://www.beyond3d.com/content/articles/55You may simply forget about Win98. Mijzelf
You may simply forget about Win98.W98 doesn't have a real 'kernelmode'. All programs have direct access to all hardware. So as far as I can see it's easier to port DX10 to W98 than to port it to XP.
marxo
That is very true. But u would have to change the whole structure so it wouldn't be a port. It would be more - a rewritting and adjusting.
dubsdj
I can't believe that would be possible. The technology is very old, I know retro stuff is great and I'm one to go along with that but the new stuff is better when you really sit down and think about it.I would love to see it working though, would be interesting.. How very lame. Can you enlighten me by giving a proper reason?RT. Edited June 29, 2007 by RedTrac
dubsdj
like I said, It would be interesting to see that working. And Windows 98 is old, I think it is anyway.. You disagree and that's a fair point from you..
Max_04
Windows 98 is old only because MS has discontinued development of this OS... but with a patient restructuration all is possible. Some examples are Revolutions Pack Lite and 98SE2ME... and also KernelEx.
