  1. If I rememeber correctly there was someone on here at one time that was making his 98 look like OS X. People at Aqua-Sot told him that there was no doc for 98, but they were wrong, Iv just found this: http://www.jonmega.com/iceman/stuff/flashdock/ I appologise if some one has posted this before.
  2. Thanks you all your help, I will try those out.
  3. Totally agree with you. It's nice finally to meet some non ignorant like minded computer people. in a vast expanse of people with the disease "Must upgrade Hardware and Software ever month, brought to you by the Balmer Brainwashing division" Currently with my family PC we have a P3 - 1Ghz 512MB RAM and 128MB video card, running Windows 98 and Ubuntu. With Ubuntu it has something called Compizfusion on, this is a total Blitz over aero(there are some nice videos around demonstrating it), and Vista Aero needs something stupid like 2.4Ghz Dual Core, 2GB RAM 512mb video card, even then it could run slowly, it's just complete bloat-ware. I my self have 2 computers which have a 4MB OS with no need for a hard drive(though obviously I do need one so iv got a 7gb in one and a 1gb in the other[the file sizes are incredibly small]), containing a Vector art program, Bitmap program with Alpha transparency, a complete programming language which allows you to create full multitasking WIMP programs. I'm upgrading the other family PC running at 600Mhz to a 1Ghz processor at the minute and putting 98 on it so I can use it for my assignments for when I return to university.
  4. Thanks. I got to agree with you on that. It was just that I was using it to download youtube videos, but I now realise that there are other methods of doing so.
  5. Iv been suffering with XP MCE for about a year and half now and iv had to reinstall it 3 times, it just keeps going wrong, I never had thes problems with 98. Im really more fully a RISC OS user, but there's some stuff that I specificaly need Windows for. My questions are: Whats the latest version of Open Office I can run on 98? and Whats the latest Real Player released for 98? Thanks, Redtrac
  6. Is this a big release? if its jsut a bug fix, then I assume it's just a little line of code preventing it form being run on 9x-ME system. Though saying that, its open source so there is no stopping us making it work our selves.
  7. Has anyone tried this? How does it compare with Tihiy's revolutions pack? http://www.windowsxlive.net/?page_id=14
  8. Hi, I am trying to install the software for my Logitec QuickCam Messenger camera. Is there a way of getting it running on Windows 98? Thanks, Mike
  9. Would it be possible to add in an XP-like start menu?
  10. Ok, I think we all should attempt to download all these drivers and place them in an archive somwhere for future use.
  11. I dont think you can class 98 as retro just yet. So is that the old reason you can give for this not working? How very lame. Can you enlighten me by giving a proper reason? RT.
  12. With a special version of this? http://www.fallingleafsystems.com/compatibility/
