How can one disable an HDD in Device Manager without the HDD spinning up first? I'm trying to have a way to disable/enable an HDD on demand. It's on an nForce 410 controller. HotSwap! and revoSleep don't work in different ways. There's no "Safely Remove" icon for the HDD. If I enable RAID in the BIOS, the partitions in the drive don't appear. What does work is unmounting the volumes with mountvol and spinning down the HDD with HDDScan. But the HDD is still visible to lower-level software, like HDTune, which spins it up. I thought I'd just disable the HDD from Device Manager, but it's spun up before being disabled. After it's disabled I can't spin it down.
Hi, Dism for Windows 7 offers no function to remove components like in Windows 8 or at least I didn't find it. Example for Dism in Windows 8 DISM.exe /Online /Disable-Feature /Featurename:Solitaire /Remove However in Windows 7 you can remove single components via Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Turn Windows Features on or off. This starts OptionalFeatures.exe, but I couldn't find any arguments for this exe. With WinToolkit you can for example only remove the whole game group, but not single games. Is there a way to remove components via a command?
i am attempting to remove the components from a MSDN Windows Seven Professional SP1 x64 iso. i have run this successfully with the same version iso in x32 bit and it worked great shrinking the finished iso to under 1 GB. however, with the same exact settings and lastsession.inf file the x64 bit stalls at 0%; i even tried reinstalling the OS and not using the lastsession from the x32 bit iso and it still yielded the same result. i have also tried both versions 1.7 and 2.6, neither worked. i have seen other members have somewhat the same issue but stalling at 94%. that member supposedly reinstalled and it worked but that is not the case here. does someone have a solution to this? thanks in advance.
