  1. Maybe if we ID the graphics card, we'll know more. This would only work if someone reports back here that they have perfect fonts and using xyz graphics card. Mine is not supported, so using windows8.1 driver: Nvidia GeForce 6150 SE nForce 430
  2. Glad someone else has this problem. I thought it was because of my integrated video.
  3. I've been using ubuntu 8.04 for over a month now. I really like it. I've tried ubuntu in the past but didn't think much of it. Not enough to change anyway. Which brings me to this. I have for the first time ever been using Linux exclusively for over a month now. I really like using Linux. Especially ubuntu 8.04

    Ghosting Vista

Here is a great article regarding Cloning Vista, using some undocumented Microsoft fix: http://www.multibooters.co.uk/cloning.html Regarding the topic Ghosting Vista, and using the above article, per close attention to a referanced article "to the man" which links to this:http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=616666&SiteID=1 About the third or fourth post you will find the solution. It is also explained very well in the above article from multibooters.co.uk EDIT: I did a test and opened a CMD prompt and typed the following: BCDEDIT /set {bootmgr} device boot BCDEDIT /set {default} device boot BCDEDIT /set {default} osdevice boot Then I Cloned my system using Ghost. When finished I inserted a different hard drive and using Ghost restored the cloned partition. Viola! It worked. So this method would work on any viable cloning program, Acronis for another.
  5. I see over at Distrowatch that Sabayon is quite popular. I have used several distros with success. Slackware being one of my favorites, but for some reason Sabayon is causing me grief. I think its because my video is built in type. PCLinuxOS works flawless, so does opensuse and ubuntu, but not Sabayon. I hear great things about this release. I do get it installed but can't make it use 1024x768 to save my life. It always wants 800x640.
  6. Super Grub to the rescue. Go here and read a little about Super Grub and what it can do, then near the bottom is several links to download the program.
  7. I'm sure this has come up before and I have search both here and abroad. All to no avail. I'm trying to accomplished what the below picture shows through nLite. But every time I try it I still get the new XP Start menu, and I can't get the "Adjust for best performance" to work. Anyone have done this? Thanks.
  8. True but not what I stated. EasySFX.exe need the EXE to be ouside the archive, like so: +INSTALLER.7z. +----setup.exe +----setup.dat +----data.cab Martin H's method has the EXE, that's going to be exectued, inside the archive using "config.txt"
  9. Thanks. It looks like an interesting program. The only problem is, I can't see where I can execute a file that resides inside the *.7z archive like I can using "config.txt". It has to reside OUTSIDE the archive.
  10. @Martin H, Thank you, just what I was looking for. I noticed that your Russian link *.sfx is much smaller than the one given by the guide on 7zip installers. I though my immediate install would have been different. I noticed several people modifing the *.sfx using Reshack. I have looked inside. Someone modified the % expanding to be just % and then below their was a word saying Loading in the gray area. Are theri any tuts on the dialouge modifing? Thanks again for your help. Interestingly you helped two people with one "stone" EDIT: I first googled and for some reason the above "babelfish" site never came up. Great find. I also was wondering about the "config.txt" parameters...now if I can just figure out how to use Reshack on the SFX file I'll be set.
  11. I want to know something very similar. There are examples galore regarding Swithless installs, but what I want to do is use SFX to extract to a dir of choice and then execute a file in that directory, nothing else. I don't want to install anything except the compressed archive. Uncompress the archive to a folder - execute a file in the folder - end of story. Somehow this is not possible, but I know it is. I have a program that does it, just can't find info on how to pass the paramerter to execute the one file. This program uncompresses to a 7z.temp folder and then executes the file. There's pleny of advice about passing arguments at the command level but nothing using the windows Parameters: of 7zip.
  12. What errors are you getting? How did you install imageX? Just pull the files into a directory? If so you need to install. If you have the correct files, right-click and left-click Install on the file "wimfltr.inf".
  13. Go here and use this. It will burn BOTH CD and DVD's: http://www.imgburn.com/
  14. @Dobby, your right! My bad. I just read down to the end. Also I like you other suggesion of Hotfix Share. Thanks!
  15. @spoof, great find! I was looking for something like this for a while now. It looks complete. One problem is another login to add...
