  1. Not sure what you mean. Is FrontPage not saving the password? Or Windows isn't? If Windows, is this user EVER asked if they want to save passwords?
  2. Do the other 2003 applications work okay?
  3. I'd first try deleting Works from the registry, and THEN reinstall. This sounds weird. I assume it's a newer version, not something 10 years old?
  4. Sorry, Gomer. I guess you've got it sorted then (pun intended)? Perhaps you wanted to sort by more than 3? http://www.officearticles.com/excel/sort_b...osoft_excel.htm
  5. Thanks, Josh.
  6. I'm sure you've got your answer by now, but you could save the PPT as an HTML file and it should save the graphics into their own folder...
  7. Guess I should have said "No. You can't do that." It's very difficult to even get Windows explorer to behave properly from a separate window using Word automation. The open dialog is common to all Office apps, too, and to my knowledge, it's just not customizable.
  8. Hi, Michael. I'm not sure I understand, but I don't want to get into anything lengthy until I find out whether you've resolved this or not. I'll tell you something, tho. Somewhere, I've got an Excel "label maker". You fill in the address, PO, etc., you tell it the start number and the end number, and it prints that many labels (box 1 of XXX, box 2 of XXX) to a Word template pre-formatted for appropriate label size. Is this SOMEthing like what you need?
  9. It's really important to include the version. Try running detect and repair on Office from the CD.
  10. You can only do that at the machine. If the security setting isn't "sticking" when the user reopens Access, talk to your IT department, or check with the user settings. Sounds like the user doesn't have rights to their registry.
  11. Yo, Steve. Sorry you didn't get an answer sooner, but perhaps some VBA code would be helpful to you? http://vbaexpress.com/kb/getarticle.php?kb_id=522 Note that the code at the article does MORE than you want, but that if you remove pieces of it, you should be just fine. Change the C:\temp part to C:\Documents and setting.... my Documents\my folder A lot to do, but one hour now could save you hours and hours later...
  12. Sorting on one column does not auto-sort on all columns. If you want this sorted alphabetically by all three columns, then you must tell it to use all 3 columns: Data-->Sort. First by Last Name, then by First Name, then by Middle initial... I had no difficulty with your list. Hope it helps!
  13. Hi. No offense, please, but it's just a bad idea. If you need to link this much data, either bring all the worksheets into one workbook, or start building a database.
  14. After you read this article, the problem will make complete and perfect sense. No more whining or crying: http://www.officearticles.com/word/trouble...rosoft_word.htm Hope it helps!
  15. Couple of things, Gabe. 1. Sorry you waited so long for an answer. 2. What view are you in? I suspect Normal view and recommend Print Layout view. 3. What does print preview show? If it shows one page, but prints two, then I suspect an issue with your printer driver. 4. NEVER put your email address in an open webspace. There are software that "scrape" the internet looking for email addresses, and next thing you know...tons of spam.
  16. Nine times out of ten, reinstalling Word doesn't help. Nine times out of ten, renaming normal.dot does. See: http://www.officearticles.com/word/about_n...rosoft_word.htm Hope it helps!
  17. Yep. I hate that!! Here's my recommended autocorrect settings so you don't have to deal with it anymore: http://www.officearticles.com/word/recomme...rosoft_word.htm Hope it helps!
  18. Hi, morag. Nothing doing with the My Places Bar, huh? You CAN edit that...see the technet article on it. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=282087
  19. Hi, -space. First, you may need to understand section breaks: http://www.officearticles.com/word/underst...rosoft_word.htm Now, I'm not going to tell you the absolute CORRECT way, but the way that ought to cause the least amount of confusion. Insert a next-page section break at the bottom of page 1. Insert another at the bottom of page 5. In section 3 (after page 5), go to the header/footer..wherever you page numbering is, and turn OFF same as previous (called Link to previous in Word 2003). Do the same in section 2. Now, when you go insert a page number at the bottom of page 1, it shouldn't auto-create it on page 2. And when you insert a page number on page 2, it shouldn't auto-create it on page 5. So, maybe no page number on page 1. Page 2, you'll use the big # button on the header/footer toolbar (I PERSONALLY NEVER USE THE INSERT-PAGE NUMBER FROM THE MENU, IT SUCKS). Then hit the button with the hand on it for page number properties and tell it to start at 1 and to be roman numeral. Go to page 5, insert # and then set the properties to start at one and set the format of the numbering. I hope this helps!
