  1. Hi there! Thanks again. It work just fine. You guys really did a great job. But, only one thing is missing. At the normal procedure, I'd choose to change the letter of the usb stick for U: . Now, this option didn't appear. It's possible to make that change? Thanks a lot! Theles
  2. Hi again. Well, I don't know why, but now it works just fine. I did exact the same thing, and now it works... Anyway. I'm posting the log file of the second iso uploaded to the usb drive with the multiboot. And I would like to know if there's any tool that I can use to make copies of this USB stick. Or, if I have to use multiboot every time. Thanks. Theles usb_log.txt
  3. Hi there! First, let me thank your instrutcions. You guys are very commited with this project, and I hope that you carry on with it. Now, let's work! In any case the $OEM$ folder selected for the second source, should not be equal to the $OEM$ folder for the first source. I suggest you select for the second source the Empty $OEM$_X folder from the USB_MultiBoot_10 folder, since you want to use the second source without any changes. Such selection is automatically proposed when a winnt.sif is found in the XP Source and is used from the XP Source. But probably this was not your case for the second source I've do it and the process now work just fine. But, when I select the modified XP ISO that have a winnt.sif and after the process I select the ISO without changes, the boot process didn't start. Starting the process with the original ISO first, and then selecting the second, worked without any kind of errors. It is not clear to me what you are doing here (what folder ?) Both ISOs was modified with nLite. The first one, is the original XP ISO. I've just add the critical patches to it, without changing anything. In the second, I've applied the same patches and some modifications, as changing users home path and some other stuff. I'm doing the process again, and I've changed to extended log, so, as soon as it ends, I'll put the log file here.
  4. Wimb, First of all, thanks for the attention. I've made as you said, and it work just fine. But, there's always a but, I have one doubt. The first ISO, was customized with several updates and with some scripts that, for example, change the user folder and do some other stuff. The second ISO has only the updates of the first, but without any changes, is just like an original XP SP2, but with the updates. I've made the first source without problems and it work fine. Following your instructions, I'd go to the second. The option "M - Select $OEM$ Folder" keep the option that was selected with the previous ISO. I would like to know, what should I do, because: - leaving this option fullfilled, the first installation work Ok, and the second work fine but at the end of the installation, it gave me one error, saying that the nlite.sif file wasn't found, and the installation succefully ends, and I didn't found any kind of problem. - changing it to the folder of the second iso folder, both installations didn't work. Am I doing something wrong...again!? Thanks a lot. Theles
  5. I'm stuck at this point. I have two working XP ISOs. Both was customized/updated using nLite. I'd extract them to sepparated folders and make the first installation on the USB. It works just fine, and the installation was pretty fast. Then I try to add the second installation with the instructions above. After rename the folders, I start again the process with the USB_MultiBoot_10.cmd, select the new source, and the new $OEM$ folder, select the USB again, and them try to make the multiboot. I've got a message saying that source and destination has the same drives. I'm pretty sure that I'm doing something wrong, but I just can't figure out what it is. Can someone help? Wich options should I choose for make the second boot? FYI, alone, the second iso is working too. Thanks Theles
  6. Hi there! Well, for me this doesn't work. I've listed on the following topic: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=88685&hl= To make it work without interventions, I've made a add-on for nLite, using nLite-AddOn Maker to make the .cab, and winrar to make an extractable package that run a .bat script that assing a letter for the volume, format the drive, give the correct permissions and extract the "Docs and Settings" file on the drive. Without extracting the "D&S" folder for the new drive, the Windows bumps all sort of problems. If anyone need, I'll gladly send the program. Just PM me with the email. cheers Theles
  7. Hi again. Since I've got no answer, and I simply couldn't make it work out, the only thing that I could do was step over the problem. I'd already create a add-on program to format and assign the correct letter for the second volume, I'd use this same add-on program to make the work for me. So, using the forever useful command line tools, I'd add: the "Docs and Settings" folder to uncompress in the Z:\, change all the necessary keys on the registry, and gave full permissions on the drive. Also, it create a local user(that the nLite couldn't create) and it add another batch script on the startup logon to install all the programs that I need to install. If someone is interested, I'll gladly sent by mail the program that I've make. []'s Theles
  8. Anyone? I really need some help! Thx! Theles
  9. Hi there. For some time now, I've being using nLite to shrink my WinXP CDs, and ad programs and drivers. I always get what I try to do. But now, I'm having some problems. I work for a company that manage the IT services for the state IR(I live in Brazil). And together, we establish some security policies. One of them, was to separate the system data to the user data in different drives(C: for system(that will be restored in every boot by hardware), Z: for user data) Since it's a large volume of PCs to change, we try to use Sysprep, but, since the PCs are from different builders, and have a wide range of processors and motherboards(intel and AMD systems), the sysprep just didn't workout. I'd suggest to use the nLite to make a CD to eliminate this problem, since I can put drivers on it, and of course, the windows will always install and the problem with the different computers would be avoided. For my first test, I took an Corporate Win XP SP2 CD, integrate 58 critical fixes, and the following changes: OBS: My CD is in portuguese. As some options. ----------------------------------- [Main] Env = 1.2.1 - 2.0.50727.42.Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Target = Windows XP Professional SP:2 - 5.1.2600.2180 - Português (Brasil) [Tasks] Hotfixes and Update Packs [Components] ;# Compatibilidade # [KeepFiles] msconfig.exe [RemoveFiles] clock.avi [Options] ProfilesDir = "Z:\Documents and Settings" TargetPath = "WINDOWS" temp_dir = %USERPROFILE%\Configurações locais\Temp AdvTweaks [Patches] [services2] [Tweaks] [unattended] ComputerType = Automático MaximumDataStorePercentOfDisk = 12 RestorePointLife = 30 DesktopTheme = Padrão|| AutoUDay = 5 AutoUHour = 15 ProgFilesPath = "\Arquivos de programas" [NetAdapter1] connname = "" macaddress = "" ipaddress = "192.168.0.1" subnetmask = "255.255.255.0" defaultgateway = "" dnsserver1 = "" dnsserver2 = "" winsserver = "" netbiossetting = "0" ipxnetworknumber = "00000000" ipxnetworkframetype = "0xFF" [GuiRunOnce] [Drivers] ------------------------------------------- Installing the CD, I'd create a partition for the system data, and create the other, for the user data, and since in the installation doesn't offer the option to format and change the letter, I've made an CAB using winrar and the nLite Add-on Maker that change the letter of the second volume(using Diskpart) and format it with NTFS, and integrated it with as a program, wich was installed in the end of the configuration as usual. The CAB that I've did work just fine, as the installation, but, when the PC boot, some problems appear. The first that I've noticed, was that under the Start Menu, the Programs tab, is empty : The second problem is that some services didn't show up, so far I've noticed that the WMI is missing. And the ICS Firewall and some other services aren't working. And I'm having some problems installing VB based programs. I'm pretty lost with this. Using the same CD, only lefting the ProfileDir with %systemdrive% the installation work just fine, and making the changes inside the windows(changing the registry keys) I didn't have any problems. But, since there's many keys to change, and these CDs goes to other cities, I'm trying to prevent some problems. Is there something that I can make to prevent this? Or am I making something wrong? Thanks in advance. Theles
