  1. I would have to say AMD all the way..Well in the Dual Core market anyway. If you look at the Benchmarks for the X2's (4000 models) and the benchmarks for the Pentium Extream editon exept for 1 maybe 2 benchmarks AMD out performs the pentium extreame edition by a lot.
  2. Bloatware for sure. It all looks flashy whic is cool and all but not only spending the what $300 to $500 just for vist but then another 5 to 6 hundred to update memory processor ect. so it will run half way decent. We'll see I have been planning on upgrading my computer to a Athlon 64 X2 (4400) processor anyway so who knows.
  3. Here is my situation. I had to move my computer tower (nothing else) upstairs and swap it out with my other computer. I plugged in everything and booted. At the splash screen where i would expect it to dissapear and the welcome screen to appear it hung up. So later I took it back downstairs and plugged all the original stuff that it usually works with in and booted. Same thing. I then tried safe mode. It came up to apg440.sys and stoped for a bit then it came to sptd.sys and went on into safe mode. I did some searching around and many people had success in removing their mouses, webcams ect. so I removed my mouse. So instead of hanging at the splash screen I get a BSOD when I would expect the Welcome screen. and same thing with trying safe mode after a few seconds at the apg.sys file I get a BSOD. I really don't want to reinstall windows. But I guess if I have to I have to. Please Help! Windows Xp Pro (Sp2) All current updates 384mb ram Pentium 2 (lol I know right) 40gb Seagate harddrive
  4. Umm, I don't want to sound mean or anything, but Vista is still a beta so there is going to be crashes, slow downs, problems booting, and driver issues. I myself couldn't even get Vista to install completly, though I haven't tried recent builds. Vista has a lot going for it, so maybe instead of hitting the negitive things that come with a Beta version of about everything, maybe hit on some of the good things that Microsoft has been working on for years. I can't wait till I can replace my current motherboard and CPU so that I can to test all that is supposed to be Vista.
  5. I not only use Registry Mechanic but I also use Advanced System Optimizer which has lots of different tools in it. And one is a Regitry cleaner and another one that Optimizes and Defrags the Registry.
  6. Congrats!!
