Hello Tripredacus, This is for HOME use, at work I've experience with RIS/WDS and MDT but that's something different. I wanna build a fully automated install for my PC and laptop, that I can also give to my friends/collegues. The installation also needs to install some basic program like VLC player/7-Zip etc. but that part I cannot figured out. Greetz, Danny

Hello all, I want to start with making Windows 7 Unattended installs. My target is to build a complete automated install, that installs OS/Drivers/Applications and updates my Windows. Now I've tried the program 7Customizer and I can build a ISO where I've added some drivers/wallpapers and modified some settings. But this ISO doesn't install my applications etc. Which program do you advise me to start with? And are there some complete guides around there, where all parts of making a fully unattended installation gets explaned? Hopefully somebody can help me! Regards, Danny

How did you do that part with capture a image of a machine. Didn't found out how that's working in WDS :S

First of all sorry for the double post. Searching for some hours on Google now, but I can't find a way to riprep a pc or make a .wim file of it. Do you guys have tried this allready and how did you solve this? What I want to do is make a image of a fresh installed machines with all programs and good settings, and import this into BDD. Problem solved this problem you get with vmware. When I use a normal test pc as server and a normal client I don't have this problem.

Other Dutch guy here, I'm 23 being sysadmin @ at a big harbor company in several countries. BTW M0NKEYPWNAGE I would like to know some more about your experiences with WDS and BDD also setting up a test environment a.t.m.

Can't you make a tut? Think more people like to know how you fixed this.

Hello guys, We allready use RIS for a long time now with succes, but I thought it was time to try something new. I've set up a test environment in our company with BDD & WDS in VMWARE. I've installed BDD/WDS/WAIK on a Windows 2003 Standard server, and followed the Quick Start for BDD 2007 but I didn't use the Vista stuff but XP SP2. After I did all the steps from this guide I imported the winpe wim file in WDS. After this I made a new virtual machine and booted with F12, everything looked ok but I now get: What am I doing wrong, nothing happens I also like to know if it's possible to use WDS like the old RIS, we allways installed a pc and then runned Riprep. I couldn't find a solution to do this in WDS yet anybody knows this? Thanks in advance! Greetz, DX

BDD sounds new for me, is it difficult to set it up and manage it? Wich options in this program are better then RIS?

Fixed, copied the original Broadcom drivers to the flatimage now it worked

Only the newest Broadcom drivers work on this machine. When I modify the drivers (method of Broadcom) I still get the same error as before... :S Anybody got some suggestions?

Bilou_Gateux your driver also doesn't seem to work, this is so strange. I'm gonna make a new image and do it all over again :S

That's a other machine we are talking about it's a HP DC5700 SFF. This NIC is on the motherboard.

I've the same problem also get a blue screen afther the white bar... :S

Hello guys, I don't get my RIS image for the new HP DC5700 SFF working. In the past we used DC 5100 SFF's and that allways worked without any problem, now we've made a new standard image and runned riprep on the machine. The image is on the server and we copied the NIC driver to the OEM folder and modified the .SIF file. But I don't get it working, I get the following error: The operating system image you selected does not contain the necessary drivers for your network adapter. Try selecting a different operating system image. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator. Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit. I've tried a few drivers the one from the HP website and from the Broadcom website but both don't work :S The NIC is a: Broadcom NetExtreme Gigabit Ethernet Adapter Anybody got ideas what I can try or had the same problems? Ok, I tried something hopefully it works. Maybe a new URL set with the website in it, then I went to Cache and made a new rule that for this website no caching is on... Hopefully this is a good method Users are gonna test it

Hey guys, Over here we have some problems when some users access a website with different accounts. The site admin told me that this is because of caching on our ISA server, he said that I need to make a rule that the this website don't get cached. This server is brand new and not installed by myself, I don't got any knowledge about this but maybe someone can help me. How can I make this rule? Thanks in advance! Greetings, DXK

You can also try to put them directly in the I386 folder and after that restart the Remote Installation Service. That did the job for me.

Hello guys, I've just installed a RIS server and everything works fine. I've allready installed 30 pc's with it but I need some help finetuning it. I've a several "problems": 1. When installing a pc the image keeps asking to enter a name and company name. 2. Active Windows automaticaly (not registrate) 3. Is it possible to set the regional settings automatically to DUTCH (US INTERNATION KEYBOARD) 4. I want to turn system restore of automatically 5. The paging file needs to controlled by the system These are 5 things to start with, after that my image is much better! Can you guys please help me with this points?
