  1. Has anyone been using the new BDD 2007 tools to build an XP image. I have and have been having a few problems whihc I've largely ironed out. I'm keen to hear what other peoples experiences have been and maybe share some ideas on using it effectively for XP as it's different than building a Vista image with it.
  2. OK, so I'm trying to come up with a one-size-fits-all name. It should identify whether the device is a PC or Laptop, it should detail the site it's at, whether it's productio or DEV and have a unique id. I've come up with site-function-unique ID so <XXXX>-<w/L><P/D>-<nnnn> eg HOME-WP-1234 tells me that it's a workstation (W) in Production (P) at site 'home' with ID 1234 Anyone got any comments on this standdard - I'd be keen to see what other people are using. This is primaritly for workstations, but a server adoption is possible (S for Server)
  3. Hi, I have a series of group policies applying to several OU's within our environment. Within it we have a Norton NAV managed client that is installed. Within one OU the NAV client gets updated with the Parent Server details, in another OU it doesn't. Different Group Policies apply to both OU's. I have confirmed that it is one of the machine policies OR one of the applications that are installed through the machine policies that are making this change, but am unable to identify what. The list of applications that are different in each OU indicate only things like Adobe, nothing that makes those sort of config changes, and looking through the machine policies that are applied, nowhere is there any montion of the Regisrty Key that is modified to apply the parent server to the managed Client. So, how do I easily determine how this registry key is being written to a machine in one OU and not the other - can I do some sort of difference between the two machines and identify what made them different, or can I use a piece of code that watches the registry and then shows me what did the updating. Confused.....
  4. Hi, I'm having terrible trouble with a two server installation of MS Project Server. I've got the SQL server configured on a seperate box and sharepoint, IIS and MS Project server are going on the second box together. Problem is, when I do the actual install of Project Server it goes most of the way then rolls back and says it has rolled back due to an error! Sharepoint appears to be working correctly, and the database gets set up on the SQL server OK. any ideas greatly appreciated! Project Server 2003 SQL Server 2000 Windows Server 2003
  5. Hi, I'm trying to change the regional language on systems that I look after from English (Australia) to English (New Zealand) is this possible from the Standard Group Policy templates or will I have to write a custom .adm. If I have to write a custom .adm, I have no idea which registry keys are going to have to be changed. Any advice appreciated.
