for the animations: goto the 'animations' setting , then select the Dogmax animations make sure you click the 'always use the animations selected below' box you must then click the 'apply changes' option under the 'WindowBlinds' options the same should apply for the toolbar glyphs, however i have run into problems changing the toolbar icons before...what worked for me was the following: - 1. open any windows explorer window 2. rightclick on the toolbar 3. make sure that 'Lock the Toolbar' is unchecked 4. goto to windowsblinds, select the toolbar you want and apply changes 5. go back to the explorer windows and rightclick the toolbar and select 'Customize' 6. in the customize option, click 'Reset' and change the Icon options to Large Icons (if set to small icons) or Small Icons (if set to large icons) 7. Click 'Close' - and BINGO ! - your icons have changed - you can now go back to the Toolbar options and reset your icons to whatever size and configuration you want, and lock the toolbar again if that doesn't work, just try playing with various options in 6. and hit 'Close' i hope this helps

Fixed !! somehow the param name on each page pointed to the same quicktime movie.....why this should only effect IE and not FF i really do not know...

thanks for looking Nigel and glad you enjoyed the site... yes, i only noticed this problem because two seperate friends using IE told me they got bored looking at the same video...i always use firefox so never knew there was a problem...

i have a website, and have pages that show quicktime movies i created.. you can select from one page any one of six different movies, and then you are taken to the next page to watch the movie. everything works fine when viewing with Firefox, i can watch whatever movie i want when viewing with IE only one video ever plays, no matter which one you choose i cannot undertand what i have done...it's just a link Link to Page i would appreciate any advise or help anyone could give me thank you

i use FF1.5 and the beta version of the free AntiVir prog. FF prompted to download, but before i could click anything AntiVir popped up the following.. guess AntiVir real-time guard works pretty well

sorry DigeratiPrime...my post wasn't quite clear enough (i wondered if that might be so when i read it ) what i meant was not the 'unread tabs' but the 'unfocused tabs' that have already loaded, i have read, but am focused on another tab now...so my current tab would have a white background, bold text (no probelms) and underlined (for example) and all my other ten tabs have, say, a light grey background with black text, and my one -unread tab has red text, or whatever...in the customize styles box i can only customize the text colour, not the background, and that is only for the current or unread tabs...not the unfocused tabs thanks for the speedy eariler reply

@DigeratiPrime i really love this extension..totally fab, and the new update is great.. one question...would it be possible to change the background colour of the background tabs? i would love to be able to set the background tab colour to, say, light grey, to enable my current tab to really stick out..i have already set the option to underline and bold for the current tab. thank you

Windows XP Home - SP2 and all current hotfixes i have disabled autoplay on my external firewire drives. when i attach a firewire drive i still get the following i had somehow managed to disable this with a previous installation of Windows XP. i may have used TweakUI, but i will not install TweakUI anymore, as it messed up the file saving capabilites of Photoshop.. does anyone know how i can disable the above. thank you

it sounds like your microphone is enabled, so it is looping the sound from your speakers...try disabling your microphone in the windows audio setting

you may have already tried it, but... goto your wireless networks conections properties, click on the Wireless Networks tab...if the 'Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings' is checked, un-check it... then double click your signal strenght icon in the systray, and make sure the SSID is set to 'linksys', if that is what you had the default set to.... you may have already tried this, but i had this problem once, and doing the above sorted it out... good luck

i'm not for or against either prog, just going by what i see on my system...very interesting to hear your views, thank you Zxian...maybe i'll have to give diskeeper a go after all....from all the answers in this thread, it really seems there is very little to choose from apart from personal preference...same with most software, i suppose...i mean, people still use IE....go figure...

thanks...i had been reading the whole thread with interest and had switched to perfectdisk a while back, after slight disapointment with diskeeper 9 (it severely impacted on system performance when running, which was doubly annoying when i had set it to 'set and forget' and then promptly forgot i had set it, so when watching a movie it would start defragging, then the movie would stop playing correctly) i wondered about switching back when diskeeper 10 came out, but now i'll stick with perfectdisk, which seems to be running great on my system...i love it freeing up contiguous free space on my drives.....

all-in-one gestures (can't live without this now) mix tab plus no script ie tab menu editor download status bar fox clocks (i have family all over the world) plus many more, and i love them all (and smiley xtra, of course)

i pay us$50 a month for a 256k adsl line (cable and wireless, dominica, west indies), max d/l 32 kbs, max up 12kbs...i really can't complain, as i live in the back end of nowhere, and there's no download limit (why should there be at my speed....?) i could pay us$300/month for a 1mbs line, but i think not..

thanks Gouki, some of the caribbean can be a little tacky, but Dominica is rainforest, mountains, waterfalls and super healthy reefs...and that's about it...glad you had a good time...
