  1. okay, that seems useful, it'll install all updates in that folder yea? Now, there an easy way of getting the latest updates? There a site that posts latest updates with links? Would you know?
  2. So I have just about everything in my unattended setup working now, and I haven't been using any tools, everything in autounattend.xml and .cmd scripts, waik, registry files. Now, going on with this, I'm a bit clueless on how to get win7 up to date. Coming directly from xp, I'm used to using ryanvm integrator to integrate updatepacks (i used one piece).. That was the best. Very simple. In Win7, I don't even know where to begin. Care to suggest anyone? Thanks!
  3. I'm sure those issues will be solved in next build. But I cannot give assure for XP hosts Same problem here, exact same config you got. Seriously hoping for a fix, thanks! Hi, Just install the flash player from Adobe website, greetings same issue in 1.05 . i have everything... shrug, what am i missing?
  4. for that, i plan to use media player classic.. but in any case, that's not what im looking for looking for playback in internet explorer. for example, playing sample music on amazon.com may require windows media player plugin (extension).
  5. yeb so as to be able to watch windows media stuff in ie.. anybody got any ideas?
  6. same issue. i do have flash in my system, along with all the other prerequisites.
  7. Someone mind telling me what these are: %rempackage%Microsoft-Windows-LocalPack-AU-Package%tail% %rempackage%Microsoft-Windows-LocalPack-CA-Package%tail% %rempackage%Microsoft-Windows-LocalPack-GB-Package%tail% %rempackage%Microsoft-Windows-LocalPack-US-Package%tail% %rempackage%Microsoft-Windows-LocalPack-ZA-Package%tail% What's the purpose of these packs?
  8. I'm sure those issues will be solved in next build. But I cannot give assure for XP hosts Same problem here, exact same config you got. Seriously hoping for a fix, thanks!
  9. Now I wonder why anyone would burn to dvd when you can use USB flash disk... So in this case, disabling would do just fine for me right? Since I'm not gonna recopy install.wim often..
  10. thanks that helped, ive managed to remove some packages, but i realize the size of the image doesn't actually get smaller. so now i wonder, what's the difference between removing a package and disabling a feature? and why would anyone wanna go through the process of removing packages rather than just disable them.
  11. "%waik%\Tools\x86\Servicing\dism.exe" /image:"%installmountdir%" /LogPath:"w:\win7\logs\install_rempackage.log" /Remove-Package /PackageName:Microsoft-Windows-TabletPC-OC-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.7600.16385 so im trying to do it manually, like above.. when i do so, i get an access denied so i try renaming a file in Windows\ and i also get an access denied, but, its fine in Users\ or some other directory... what does all this mean?
  12. Specifically, i'd like to remove xps services, xps viewer, windows dvd maker, windows media center and if somebody thinks its a bad idea to remove one of those, do mention so too.
  13. Fixed it. doesnt require cmd /c. Used HKLM instead of HKCU.

  15. I'll give that a shot, in any case, what's up with localintranetsites, how does that directive work, does anybody know?
  16. In IE8, if i were to add file://bbx (bbx is a network computer to advanced under intranet, this popup vanishes So I've tried several of these in autounattend.xml <LocalIntranetSites>\\bbx\</LocalIntranetSites> <LocalIntranetSites>file://bbx/</LocalIntranetSites> <LocalIntranetSites>files://bbx</LocalIntranetSites> nothing works. entering ie8, local intranet, i dont see this added. can anyone help
  17. I run firstlogon commands via network share, and I get this warning too. Now, how exactly do I elevate it... does anybody have any good ideas?
  18. My firstlogon.cmd is in a network share, and it would seem that when programs/registry/batch files aren't local, i'd get this open file - security warning - unsigned publisher popup, you fellas should know what I'm talking about. Any idea how I can supress this message or totally get rid of it?
  19. Is there an answer already to topic? say i add hkcu registry tweaks using firstlogoncommands, will they be loaded upon very first logon (right after firstlogoncommands complete -> completion of win7 installation)
  20. LOL - FYI - It is sound like Jin-Jay, not Jin-Gee.First logon commands run in the context of the user (most likely an adminstrator but not guaranteed), and SetupComplete.cmd always runs elevated. SetupComplete.cmd runs immediately prior to first logon, First logon commands do not occur until after the first logon. SetupComplete finishes about 5-10 seconds before First Logon commands start. SetupComplete.cmd can make changes to the default user profile, and when done these changes will reflect in the new user profile created at first login, this cannot be done via First Login commands, as the new user profile would already be created before they run. But the most important reason I prefer setupcomplete.cmd, is it takes normal batch commands vs First Logon using batch commands inside an XML block. Much easier to add, delete, and re-order commands using setupcomplete.cmd Ah, so what if I have customizations on applications, say, .ini files that reside in %appdata%. Thing is, appdata hasn't yet been created for the user.
  21. Would you be so kind to share your setupcomplete.cmd and firstlogoncommands cmd script?
  22. MrJinJie, is runonceex in xp closer to setupcomplete.cmd or firstlogoncommands?
