many update I download from Windows Update links are CAB packages. I wan to make it MSU package so that I can double click to install it. i have try to compress CAB and the XML file to a new CAB, and rename it MSU, but it cannot be installed... who know this???

I had made Autounattend Vista installation DVD using WSIM in WAIK, all worked ok but it cannot set the customized Theme...... if your DELL recovery disk is not the original-like XP CD, Windows may not use this CD to install new files. maybe you need a Original Windows XP CD.

You can back up the cab file. It's in %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution\Download under some gibberish named folder. Update: I think you can install a cab file with pkgmgr.exe. The Package Manager command-line options give the following for the /s switch which can be used online or offline (I'm assuming online means while you are using Vista and offline means a mounted image or while in XP). start /w pkgmgr /ip /m:path_to_cab\dreamscene.cab /s:c:\sandbox where C:\sandbox is a temporary folder used during install to extract the cab files. I can't try it since I installed it already using the MSU. Can anyone who hasn't installed it test it and let us know if it works? You need pkgmgr.exe from WAIK. it's so cool! nitroshift is not right... this link is "Windows XP Embedded - Windows XP Embedded with SP1 Language Packs" It's just for Windows XP Embedded Edition and cannot install on XP Pro or MCE... Look at following picture.....It's the lanuage supporting of Media Center. Languages which is supported after RollUpdate2 for MCE2005 just realeased as Localization Pack for English MCE2005.... But these Localization is not sold standalone and sold with Media Center PC. May be you can find the Localization Pack for Media Center 2005 (Danish) on the Internet,,Good Luck!!!

Using Windows XP SP2 (Home Edition,Professional,or later versions of Windows),you can play dvr-ms file with Windows Media Player....

I have get the problem once 2 years ago with installing XP SP1. I think it's a bug or compatability problem of XP in that time....

maybe your friend didn't buy anything special to get the option, but OEMs have installed many things in the computer to get more usful than retail version of MCE2005. I think most OEMs have installed DVD Decoders in the system so users do not need to install it. Recorded TV and Buffered TV Sreaming is stored Here by default: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Recorded TV you can change the store drive in Media Center TV Setting Page. you can change the store path with TweakMCE Powertoy or Regedit.exe in registry. TweakMCE is a Microsoft-Official tool to tewak hiden Media Center Options...

after Update Rollup 2,MCE2005 added 11 languages, but these MCE 2005 are using English kernel and a Localization Pack (containing MUI for XP, WMM, WMP, MCE2005).. you must but it with MCE2005 sold in those countries/Regions legally. but you can download it from internet as other softwares....
