Service Pack 2 Slipstream Issues
Managed to install SP2 on here (after having to bork around with the **** ntoskrnl file), and now face more problems when trying to slipstream it. The error is: This Service Pack cannot be integrated into a destination that also has integrated Software Updates. Consult the Service Pack documentation... I get this while using the method suggested on theeldergeek. Any ideas?

Location of cursors
I'm trying to find the location of the default cursors in xp. They are not found in c:\windows\cursors\ as far as I can remember... The reason for this, is I'm sick of the theme not changing the icon for the LINKs, plus i'd like to replace the default ones with my own custom ones.

Intellitype and Intellimouse
I've got a Microsoft Multimedia keyboard (its got the My docs, my pics, my music, mute, play, stop, vol up, vol down, prev, next, media, mail, web home, messenger buttons on it) I think the keyboard mappings may be the same for all the keyboards with added ones depending on how many buttons it has, could be wrong though.

All you need to do is make a copy of the Program Files\Microsoft IntelliType Pro folder, replace it on format (just stick it in the $1\Program Files\Microsoft IntelliType Pro\ dir, and then get type32.exe to run on startup (using the registry). You can then change the keys just by pressing the buttons, however, once you've bound them I dont htink you can readjust them (maybe there is another exe in there that does it) but the registry keys for them are. ; Intellitype Pro [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\IntelliType Pro] "Model"=dword:000003ec [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\IntelliType Pro\EventMapping] [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\IntelliType Pro\EventMapping\20] "ShellExecute"="D:\\Misc\\web.txt" "Friendly"="web" "Arguments"="" "Command"=dword:00000320 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\IntelliType Pro\EventMapping\21] "ShellExecute"="D:\\Misc\\mail.txt" "Friendly"="mail" "Arguments"="" "Command"=dword:00000320 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\IntelliType Pro\EventMapping\25] "ShellExecute"="D:\\Applications\\Install Files\\WinampExecutables\\PlayPause.exe" "Friendly"="PlayPause" "Arguments"="" "Command"=dword:00000320 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\IntelliType Pro\EventMapping\26] "ShellExecute"="D:\\Applications\\Install Files\\WinampExecutables\\Stop.exe" "Friendly"="Stop" "Arguments"="" "Command"=dword:00000320 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\IntelliType Pro\EventMapping\27] "ShellExecute"="D:\\Applications\\Install Files\\WinampExecutables\\Prev.exe" "Friendly"="Prev" "Arguments"="" "Command"=dword:00000320 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\IntelliType Pro\EventMapping\28] "ShellExecute"="D:\\Applications\\Install Files\\WinampExecutables\\Next.exe" "Friendly"="Next" "Arguments"="" "Command"=dword:00000320 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\IntelliType Pro\EventMapping\29] "ShellExecute"="C:\yourmediaplayer" "Friendly"="Media" "Arguments"="" "Command"=dword:00000320 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\IntelliType Pro\EventMapping\64] "ShellExecute"="D:\yourdocsfolder" "Friendly"="My Documents" "Arguments"="" "Command"=dword:00000320 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\IntelliType Pro\EventMapping\65] "ShellExecute"="D:\yourgfxdir" "Friendly"="My Pictures" "Arguments"="" "Command"=dword:00000320 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\IntelliType Pro\EventMapping\66] "ShellExecute"="D:\" "Friendly"="My Music" "Arguments"="" "Command"=dword:00000320 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\IntelliType Pro\EventMapping\67] "Command"=dword:00000320 "ShellExecute"="C:\yourmessenger.exe" "Friendly"="Messenger" "Arguments"=""

Giving Your Windows Cosmetic Surgery
No chance anyone knows where the dialogs for the logon/logoff/waiting are stored do they? The ones that are visible by the classic logon. I know you can change the bmps, but is it possible to actually remove the completely and make a super small sized logon? Ive looked thru shell32.dll and msgina.dll and cant find it anywhere.

Alcohol 120% v1.4.8.1222
I'm trying to get this to install with my xp install. This is one tricky bastaard, or so it would seem. Currently i'm using the following as an install switch in my RunOnceEx file: C:\\Install\\Files\\Alcohol\\setup.msi /QB it works, however there is only 1 small glitch. It still asks to restart. Is there another switch I am missing to make this work? EDIT: Just realised I left the msiexec /i off the front of it in the install, would that make a difference?

Completed XP Setup Screens
Know where I can find any screenshots of the installer? After a tute that I read on a thread here, it's possible to have black text now, which is sweet, and makes this possible.

Completed XP Setup Screens
I'm making one to match my redhat conversion, however i've run into a problem... The text for the install is white, and I'm unsure how to make it black. I've checked thru the string table and found nothing. Screenshot

Microsoft Tidbits
I've been making a install screen to match my complete redhat conversion of xp, and this is where its at LINK The only problem is the white text, is it possible to have the text as black? I've looked through the string table and I cant find anything where 255,255,255 is written. Any help will be appreciated? Also perhaps the green bar that comes up for the progress, a nice blue for that would be good.

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop ^ take a look in the registry key, basically everything about the boot screen (before the logon) is stored in there.

Nifty little application
Not sure about the rest of you ATI users, but I know that the control panel changing my reso is a pain in the butt, so I went searching for a command line reso changer, and this is what I found Reschange Now I havent tested it yet (aside from actually in windows and it works), but I was thinking, perhaps install the control panel during the cmdlines.txt phase, and then call this application to change your reso on first boot. ECHO Changing resolution to 1280 x 1024 (85hz) reschange.exe -width=1280 -height=1024 -depth=32 -refresh=85 Maybe this will be of some help to others Also, does anyone know the registry key to register your copy of DU Meter, and its preferences?

Default Wallpaper and Theme
Hey guys, this is my first time posting here. I've got a lot of useful information from here so far, but these two problems have eluded me. 1) I cant get the default wallpaper to be Wallpaper1.bmp 2) I cant get the default theme to be Bluecurve. The only problem is, it doesnt automatically boot to the bluecurve theme. I'd also like to change the resolution of windows AFTER the ati control panel has been installed, because it sets the reso back to 800x600, is there a command that will do this? Also I'm working on a professional install screen.
