  1. you can try something like 'Active Registry Monitor'... it might be what you need to do the above testing. ~Dave
  2. DOH! ... found that I am an id*** ... this is my problem: [unattended] UnattendMode = ProvideDefault ... it is supposed to be: [unattended] UnattendMode = DefaultHide LOL Thanks for the help guys ~Dave
  3. I am building a Unattended XP disk and would like to be able to have the 5 main icons in a specific placement on the desktop, how can I do this so that after my install finishes, it already has the icons in the Custom order? I would like them like pictured in my attached file: (assuming that my VERY poor illistration is 800x600.... lol) ...so, how can I get my fresh install of windows to have that exact layout without having to enable the icons and arrange them manually (or having a tweak to enable... but still all that I see will not allow you to custom arrange like in the pic). Please, If you have any ideas let me know. Thanks, Dave
  4. I just recompiled XP again, now with nlite 1.0 RC3, RyanVM 2.0.1 and BTS latest (5.11 I belive) and still will not use my WINNT.SIF file ...and also for testing I added the user data and also tried another copy with only the RyanVM files... still to no avail. What is going on here? I didn't have any issues when using nlite 1.0beta, and previous copies of RyanVM & BTS files. any other ideas would help greatly... Thanks, ~Dave
  5. @ruudboek: Unfortunately, I just system that had the above mainboard just left my store, and I wasn't able to get a chance to try it with the drivers from ASUS. ~Dave
  6. @Bâshrat the Sneaky: Thanks for the fast reply on checking this out. I wish you luck with it. Also, I had a off-topic issue... ATI Radeon 9550, caused the system to reboot instantly when viewing a webpage with ActiveX or advanced graphics. Didn't know if anyone else had this issue, but just wanted to through out a FYI just incase it wasn't limited to that system. @ruudboek: I AM indeed using all of the latest driver packs, including Sound 5.11. As far as trying to do the load again, I probably wont get the chance to... because I work at a computer repair shop and see many systems a day and either the Unattended CD works... or If it doesn't I use a standard CD for a full reload of windows (when needed), then I usually don't see the system again once the customer picks it up.... however, it is still in my store ATM, if it is still there after we close shop tonight I will try. Thanks, Dave

Please, let me know what I can do about this issue, besides disable the sound (which I don't want to do) Thanks in advance
  8. will do... I'm thinking that the issues lies somewhere else myself... but am unsure of where. I will test 2morrow, cause it is 4am and i gotta B 2 work in the morning... *sigh*... the story of my life...
  9. @Grake - Unfortunately I use this setup on MANY different systems so I can not include this information... I WANT to be prompted for the USERDATA. @rikgale - I already have the deployment tools, but to no avail, I even tried using my previous known working WINNT.SIF file to no avail, it still asks me for the info Let me know if you guys have any more ideas of what could be causing this to happen.
  10. ... actually this is the file generated by nlite & BTS, then I added a couple things like URL & TAPILOCATION (Which I have used many times before with the previous nlite & driver pack. UserData was blank... I didn't delete anything. Any Ideas?
  11. I need some help... I recently have tried using nlite 1.0 RC2 to slipstream RyanVM's Update Pack 2.0 then add BTS's Driver packs(M2)... and during the install it doesn't use any of the options that I have preset in my WINNT.SIF file....also, I have previously tried to use nlite 1.0 Beta, RyanVM's 1.3.0 & BTS's drivers (M2) without any issues. What am I doing wrong, or how do I solve this issue? Also another feature of nlite I can't seem to make work is the Option to show the "Internet Explorer" icon on the desktop even though it is selected to do so. I can make it show the other 3 (my doc. comp & network) without any issues. any ideas? Here is the code for my WINNT.SIF file: --------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------- Also was wondering, because I HAVE to have my icons in a specified order (obsessive compulsive i guess). Is there a way that I can make my unattended install put my My Computer, My Documents, Etc. into a specified order? Please let me know what I can do to resolve this issue ASAP if anyone has any input.
  12. Sry, no... not looking for Warez... also, i accidently posted in the wrong thread Thanks though
  13. I didn't see this mentioned anywhere, but is there a link or ISO that I could download 98SYL ed. from? that would be great. Thank You In Advance, Dave
