  1. you don't need the tools directory.... moduals should be spelled modules what do you use for the El Torito boot sector? you Win2000 dat file, or the loader.bin (loader.bin should be the right answer)
  2. i should probally point out, any errors regarding can not access harddrive after Windows is "installed" don't count. You're most likely trying to install Windows ona multiprocess/hyperthreading system. Windows has problems with that.
  3. do you have a Bootmenu, like CDShell? If so, is CDShell in the boot folder on your DVD?
  4. I'm interested in hearing all of your problems with installing Windows 98? not 95, as I haven't gotten to that yet I've been running a few tests with a different way to get the CDROM letter and so far they are running flawless. I'm curious as to your problems so I can try and emulate it and see if the new way works....try and be specific. Not like, mine doesn't work. it Just freezes. When does it freeze, how have you edited the floppy image, so on and so forth.
  5. find what? winntbbu.dll? If that is the question, i would say search..... or check one of the links in my signature.
  6. NOO!! Don't surprise me!!!! (the world has now come to an end) I woudl say Multiple disk, but I use DVDs and not even half full..... I would say GUIInstall fixer upper, but......i dunno.....
  7. I've gotten this a few times, and Haven't figured out what causes it. I have suspiscions but nothing I've actually investigated yet. It might be you have a Path wrong, like in Txtsetup.sif. You didn't tell it the new source files. But I don't know. Could also be a bad burn, or perhaps the disk got somehow corrupted by the image, or there is a scratch or some imperfection, or even the DVD-ROM. During the blue screen phase, all those .**_ files are uncompressed and have the full extensions in this case .inf My guess is that maybe you tried some of the removal batches? If so, look in Dosnet.inf and Txtsetup.sif for the line that has that in it and remove it. Or it could be that its a signed file and you tried to edit it. Have you tried copying a fresh copy of it from your original disk?
  8. the problem with Installshield and when they are in the cab/exe form is that there is also a compiled installscript that you can't edit real easily. You can find a program to extract the cabs, but you'd have to completely recreate the setup in MSI. It's like the Nullsoft Installer. Pain in the butt to mod.
  9. it's been asked for before... go to flyakite.msfnhosting.com then downloads
  10. As far as I'm aware of, there are no plain text versions. The closest would be the old Unattended website design, but it was all black. We like our pictures, and color even better.
  11. if you use XPCreate..... it fully updates Win2000. True it doesn't slipstream IE6 into the source, but it can install it at say....when SVCPACK.INF is run..... please CHECK his website and his forum. It is further discussed there.
  12. it has to be in $OEM$ just create it..... as long as it's the only thing in that folder....you shouldn't run into any problems.
  13. if using the boot disk.... you just extract ALL the files from the IMG's. You don't need makeboot.exe or makebt32.exe, those take the IMG files and put's them on floppies.
  14. you may find out more then you need to about XPCreate if you took a gander in it's forum and webpage.... and though WinXP did come with IE6, ServicePack 1 updated it to IE6SP1, so technically if you slipstreamed ServicePack1 you won't have to update IE6 to IE6SP1 after install.
  15. wrond thread dude...... but it might help posting your XML file
  16. have you glanced at unattended.msfn.org yet? just asking as the hotfixes/apps might have been answered. Hotfixes can be installed Whenever, atleas the majority of them. Apps are the same way. and yes, the application doesn't even have to be silent to run from XPlode. All xplode does, is perform like a batch file in it's running, if you want to think of it that way.
  17. latest installer built on 3/26/04 5.03a is the latest.
  18. not trying to bash here..... but I would love to see you tell people how to modify the Nullsoft installer......
  19. i think the man was tyring to say, when using GUIInstall mode, instead being "fixmain" via parameter... it should draw the ENTIRE vertical length of the screen, while the width of it is editable
  20. yeah.... but again, we're not altering their program in any way. just on how it's deployed. It happens quite often in corporate places when then can't automate the darn thing.
  21. I read this at your documentation and in the forum, but when I try to save in unicode, the xml won't work! I dunno why! What Programming is XPLode, is it C-Code? Have a nice day, Sie Tjin Kian have you tried using the /log: option? If it says your XML files still isn't Unicode, try opening it in Internet Explorer or another XML viewer. I had that problem once, and I forgot to close a tag, but XPlode said it wasn't saved as Unicode. oooh oooh! I know of another option, SP2 compatibility
  22. that would be the ONLY part of that paragraph that might disallow it. And it is also under interpretation. we MIGHT fall under the redistribute clause, but it is bundled with the others in such a way it would lead to one's thinking they meant to do anything to the program or installer to sell it. We aren't. Simple as that. I'll see about getting in touch with the nullsoft people about it, but they are pretty cool about this stuff. As long as you didn't change or crack or bypass anything in the program itself, they usually don't really care.
  23. there isn't anything in the EULA about repacking, while retaining full functinality. I've checked before, remember my last Winamp installer? they haven't changed the EULA all that much since then. You're just not aloud to remove anything. Mac didn't, everything is still there, you just have to turn it on
  24. from my understanding, for after you get some sleep.... -p"-s /v\"/qn TRANSFORMS=%CDROM%\Apps\Acrobat\Acrobat.mst\"" -p" : passes parameters to the setup.exe inside the netopsys thing. -s : makes the setup.exe silent /v : passes commands onto the msiexec command (that's too much passing for me personally ) so to put multiple commands after /v you need the quotes ("'s) sure hope you didn't copy %CDROM% directly. <execute display='Extraction' program='%XPlode%\Programmes\acrobat\acrobat.exe' arguments='-p"-s /v\"/qn TRANSFORMS=%XPlode%Programmes\acrobat\acrobat.mst\""'/> i think. worth a shot.
  25. @Chris Lee you must be doing something wrong. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Nullsoft\Winamp] "regname"="Alanoll" "regkey"="CH400-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX" that registry entry worked for me. You have to actually put your registry key INPLACE of the X's. Not the hashed result when inputed via Winamp. EDIT::I left CH400 in there on purpose. Hopefully it's not against the rules, as the rest of it is missing. Just to prove my point that you put he actual serial in there.
