  1. what does your Autoexec.bat look like?
  2. hmmm, Mav that's a doosy.... seems like it should work.... have you tried changing the file? In your config.sys are you loading the CDROM drivers to begin with.
  3. if you were to delete stromgs from txtsetup.sif regarding all those scsi cards and whatnot.... they be in the [sCSI.LOAD] section. They other don't matter all that much if they don't load to begin with.
  4. does Windows 98 EVER come up at the top of the screen? with theWindows logo to the left of it? Or does it still look like dos. That's what I meant by when does it happen. If it's dos, make sure you have the PATH set correctly to your install files If anyone else has any problems speak up, but BE SPECIFIC! I need to know EXACTLY when it happens. daywalker's error can come at ANY point of the install. If i'm even going to attempt to configure a setup to match yours I need to know the specifics. BE DESCRIPTIVE!
  5. i don't remember saying anything about UFO's........ i remember making a spoof of the Matrix... to make a MST, you either save as a MST in a Windows Installer editor.....or.... you could use Microsoft's tool in their SDK. I'm not saying it isn't easy and there isn't a reason to edit a MSI, but alittle safety is always good. AS for the winamp msi, that commandline options were added to allow people to choose what they wanted, instead of having 4-5 different versions floating around. I don't really see what your problem with switches are....to make MSI windows not appear at all you just use /qn . That's 3 characters. I understand FIXING the registry key, you just oculdn't wait Now if you really want to be picky, why in the world are you using an MST when you could obviously just alter it like you do with your other MSI's? Office installs via Windows Installer as well. The file is proplus.msi
  6. umm...his winntbbu.dll makes no difference whether or not it the program runs. as for the log, it doesn't matter if anything was installed, the log will be created even if XPlode even starts. Do you have a log file? have you tried the quotes thing?
  7. is XPlode.exe and Xplode.xml in your svcpack/update folder within the I386 folder? is the XML file saved as unicode? Was a LOG CREATED? This usually helps in solving most problems. I believe that the whole line for Xplode.exe needs to be in quotes, but I'm not sure. as for the integratation.... What you have should do it, assuming you get the program running to begin with.
  8. look for Gosh's Reducing of Source... it's in the Thread Of Interest link i have in my signature.... it might help...
  9. Server should use mostly the same files as eitehr XP or your Corp version of 2003. If that is the case, use CDImage to create the ISO and it will create references to the same files, but one write it once.
  10. lol. well come to think of it, i think there is a no reboot switch....lol.
  11. It partitions, then reboots (tells you first ), then in your boot menu or if it's just a normal disk, you let it boot back into the floppy (image or real) and start OEMSetup.exe again, and it will then format it (on its own) and then runs setup.
  12. VirtualPC is made by Microsoft now, and you can get a free 45 day trial download off their website. 15 CDs. Depending on where you live, that doesn't cost mcuh. I can get a 50 spindle for 7 dollars (US). GUIRUNOnce >> NO RELATIVE PATHS!! They have to be defined. C:\ or %Systemdrive%. You have to have the full path whether by variable or hardcoded letter. %systemdrive% will be the drive Widnows is installed on %systemroot% is the Windows directory. since you are trying to run from CD, you can't do it without having some sort of batch file copied over that then executes it.
  13. yes.... just think of DVD as a bigger CD. Until you do like DVD authoring you're safe using the CDFS on DVDs.
  14. well, I"ve been using OEMSETUP.EXE and it partitions and formats for you. Then it runs setup.

  16. you still haven't told me, when does it say this? be SPECIFIC! WHEN DOES IT HAPPEN! fdisk only creates the partition, you still have to format it before you can use it. have you tried copying hte install files to the virtual hdd before starting?
  17. but North America still owns though. Texas, US YEEEHAAA!!
  18. You can not be told what a MST is, you must expierence it yourself. The easiest way to make an MST, is make modifications to an MSI, compare it to the original, and voila MST file, WITH the orignal MSI to install from. Half the time, the serial numbers that are entered into the serial number fields in the MSI are typically saved in a Property, you just create the property, put your serial in there, and then the INSTALLATION registers it by it's own methods. Before subjugating saying one method is better then the others, do try it YOURSELF, and use a little logic as to why the MSTs were created to begin with, instead of instructions on how to modify the MSI directly. There are reasons.
  19. it is WMP9 and MM2, and perhaps he's content with just WMP9 besides all the OPK version does, is bundle both installers into one package and then use the same commands we would to install them.
  20. well.... first Orsi, you have to install the program. Then you have to create the "recovery disks" from within PM8. Then you have ot create the floppy image (i haven't figured out how to make a virtual floppy drive, so have 2 disks ready), and head on over to http://flyakite.msfnhosting.com/imgfiles.htm for instructions on how to make them.... then in your CDShell menu, just add what you want, and use the memdisk command to execute the image.
  21. what do you use to format? fdisk? or partition magic? when does it ask for the disk? still in dos? or during the Windows Setup screens?
  22. oh, his UBCD DVD is quite nice.....very, very nice.
  23. some people have reported problems on installing Windows 98 and finding the right drive. Others say Windows setup stalls, and a few other things. So i've been working on another way to get it to work.
