  1. I do it without problems with my academic alliance copies of vista business, and so far i've been able to use my key with both 32 and 64 bit. So I'd hazard a safe guess towards the idea of you being able to, purely because I do it on a dailybasis at college...
  2. Id like to know this too, seems that MS are starting to put a few companies out of business by including everything youd need in the OS.... Norton has some serious competition since a WinPE disk can be far more flexible than a Ghost disk. Anyone got any numbers to do with how fast you can write an image from hard disk to hard disk? Only had a chance to do it over gig ethernet so far.

    .NET 2.0?

So .NET 3 is not backwards compatible with .NET 2 apps? ****

    .NET 2.0?

So does anyone know if Vista is able to run .NET 2 based apps straight after install? Only reason I ask is so that I can "re-use" an application installer that I wrote awhile back for installing all my drivers, apps, etc...
  5. Dont think I explained deep enough lol. Ok so shutting down goes fine, then get to the shutdown screen saying the obvious "Shutting Down blah blah blah" Looks like its going fine then the cheerio next to the text in the logon/shutdown screen Ive known this to happen in XP also when it gets to Saving Your Settings so im just wondering what might be causing it under vista, especially since I dont actually have any applications installed that would have problems closing. And if there is a program not closing properly then MS has made a nice booboo in the RTM :-S
  6. Dont know if this is just an isolated problem for me, but it seems that everytime I try to shutdown/restart it halts, (Can tell because the "cheerio" stops spinning). Any ideas on what could be causing it because im stumped.
  7. Addition > Games The Sims 2 Pets (x86) runs but stalls when it gets to the Introduction video Codec problem maybe?
  8. Ok crisis over Found a newer set of drivers that seem to solve all the problems I was experiencing. Guru3D have a set of Forceware drivers based on 97.34 for Vista RTM. Linkage: http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1527
  9. Ok so heres the problem (Tried searching forums for solution but for some reason the search isnt working) Install goes fine, first run goes fine, then when I try to click the Start button I get shifted to a BSOD which then dumps and restarts. Ok so I can run perfectly using the classic theme, which leads me to believe it to be a graphics driver issue. System is as follows: 2.0GHz Celeron ASRock P4V88+ Motherboard 1Gb RAM 40Gb Drive for Vista 80Gb for everything else nVidia Geforce 6200 256mb AGP I am also using the beta drivers from nVidia Any help would be greatly appreciated as I cant wait to test out the Aero features.
  10. Still a work in progress ok so any feedback is good feedback SCREENSHOT WINNTBBU.RAR
  11. BlackBox works on anything from 95 onwards as far as I know. For something more customisable Litestep might be the way to go, ive seen some serious competitors to KDE from theme creators using Litestep, namely one theme titled Ghost by Norman Bates, anyone interested should just google for it because ive forgotten the address for his site...
  12. Ok the MySQL works fine so good news for anyone who feels like using that for regular stuff... But im wondering, could you use the PHP/MySQL to grab the windows Installation files from the database depending on options selected within the Autorun menu? Say have a table setup for XP, another for Server 2003, etc... then have it setup the Installation folders in the same way WINNT32.EXE would on C:\ if installing from inside an installed Windows? Would make your Autorun app work as a sort of RIS but with more control over what gets installed and also minimise the size of an installation CD.. Of course this would only be handy if the system is connected to a network with MySQL (Or other database server) present. Just a thought but might be worth trying. Make it easier to have an install with options for patching files or not patching files depending on what you choose within the autorun menu pages...
  13. PHP 4... Yummy, MySQL support is built in Ignore last post im disappearing to try a few things out
  14. Been using your app for awhile now TrooperMan and its done what it says on the tin... But a few golden words that would allow you to change the autorun menu for all your installation disks without having to manually burn a new version when you make a change to the menu... MYSQL SUPPORT IN THE PHP!!!!! Imagine if the index page could connect to a database on the network, grab the latest menu information and spit it out the way you want it... Hell you could probably get the menu to display different menus depending on the files present on the disk... Would be one cool feature and it would save time updating all your installation disk since all you would have to do is update this one database... No idea if its possible since you would need to include the MySQLlibraries on the disk and have them accessible but would be well worth the effort to include it...
