  1. added support to Windows® 7 Windows Server® 2008 R2 New features would be Manage Images with the Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool (DISM) Migrate User Accounts with the User State Migration Tool New Windows Default Disk Partition Structure Change Windows Editions During Deployment Optimize Windows PE Image Deploy Virtual Hard Disks with Native Boot Anyway the new DISM that replace the PEimg tool is uber cool! =D btw the PEimg.exe in no longer available with this release of the Windows AIK.
  2. I think the idea is to strike a balance between saving space and building a trouble free system. It's not a zero sum game, but it does seem like it at times so careful considerations must be made with regard to the potential problems caused by removing deep rooted system components. The performance increase in VLited systems is largely a myth so I don't even consider that issue. agree. Its more of a saving space & removing redundant features in the os itself.
  3. easy90rider it seems like your installation is corrupted try reinstalling. I have no problem getting build 6956 to run on athlon64 3000+ with 1 gb of ddr333 ram & 40gb hdd & the only problem i encounter was not able to find the driver for my aging ati radeon 9200 which they cease to support it since vista... on the other hand build 7000 is running fine in my vm on c2d E6600 with 2gb of ram & 500gb of hdd though i hope that i can use xfi just like in xp without the need for alchemy software like vista does... I would suppose devices like usb keyboard, mouse & game controller(x
  4. Dun think so if it is used for system restore or complete pc restore as 200mb is insufficient for the whole os which by default installation uses 10.7gb of hdd space... Its more like a protected system files or the main core files of win7 which is hosted there hidden from the user in the os which also speed up the loading of windows or the responsiveness of the windows at the same time preventing unauthorized modification to the system files... my 2cents
  5. Yes! win7 is definitely much more responsive than vlited vista like what they say as the windows team removed & optimized services in win7 & not to mention new features being added into it as well. As they implement new features into the os functionality increase, stability decrease affecting performance along the way.... It is much safer to run win7 in virtual machine as spacesurfer propose if you are really concern about stability as win7 is still in beta stages. and also the don't bet too much on the display driver from vista to work properly in win7 as the windows team might hav
  6. Hi nuhi! Thks for the new update. Found some bugs in the time zone it ain't set correctly. Example: "Afghanistan Standard Time" should be used in the unattended.xml instead of "(GMT+04:30) Kabul". Thks efong for pointing that out too.
  7. Heres a good vista Website for u guys who need to disable unnecessary services that hinder your vista experience!
