test it your self. Download the 90day trial and use it. If you like it stick with it and what most likely happens is that you want Windows 7 back.

Does your Script also work with foreign language Windows 7 versions?

Installed EMET, Windows Updates stopped working
MagicAndre1981 replied to JorgeA's topic in Windows Vista
yes, all fine after using EMET. -
don't use the PAE patch with an Intel GPU. They are so badly coded and cause BSODs/Bug checks. Install the 64Bit Windows 7 to use all memory.

Trace why Windows 8 boots, shutsdown or hibernates slowly
MagicAndre1981 replied to MagicAndre1981's topic in Windows 8
have played with permissions settings: set all C: drive to System and Administrators full control and enabled inheritance for sub-folders and files. Some system folders refused to accept new settings, but 'magically' ReadyBoot folder started to fill after restart. The values are fine now. But you should use the "fast Startup" as much as possible.- 370 replies

Trace why Windows 8 boots, shutsdown or hibernates slowly
MagicAndre1981 replied to MagicAndre1981's topic in Windows 8
the prefetcher is still broken. Every is black and those are misses. Does the PC crash when you run the fast startup tracing? I- 370 replies

Trace why Windows 8 boots, shutsdown or hibernates slowly
MagicAndre1981 replied to MagicAndre1981's topic in Windows 8
1.) I need a newer tarce which contains the optimization to know if the new value is ok 2.) You used the wrong command. I've posted a command to trace the fast startup. You must use this one and not the normal boot tracing command.- 370 replies

Trace why Windows 8 boots, shutsdown or hibernates slowly
MagicAndre1981 replied to MagicAndre1981's topic in Windows 8
How do you shut the PC down? When Fast Startup is used you should see a text "shutting down PC ..." and next a black screen for a few seconds until the data are written to the hibernation file. this is by design. Reboot is the old way http://blogs.msdn.com/b/b8/archive/2011/09/08/delivering-fast-boot-times-in-windows-8.aspx- 370 replies

still nVidia driver spikes: Now i can see that Chrome causes the nVIDIA driver issues. Try to disable HW acceleration in Chrome. Now you also have USB 3.0 driver issues. If you don't need USB 3.0 disable the controller. Also can you plug the D-Link DWA-556 Xtreme N PCIe Desktop Adapter into a different PCIe port so that it no longer shares an IRQ wit hthe sound card (ctoss2k.sys - Creative SB X-Fi)?
-
Disable them and test again. An users also had GPU issues and the casue was power saving options for PCIe. Go to the power saving options and disable all PCIe power saving options. Maybe this helps, too.
-
it is now better: now there are 5 spikes over 1ms (1024µs) the nvlddmkm.sys usage seems to be caused by the Sidebar. Which gadgets do you use?
-
yes, make a new trace after using the second PCIe x16 slot.
-
Connect the mouse to different USB port which doesn't share the IRQ with the nVIDIA. If you have 2 different PCIe x16 slots plug to nVIDIA to the second slot.
