    Aren't the newer DLLs supposed to be backwards-compatible with the older ones? That's why MS created WinSxS.

    you can't run a .NET appl on WinPE, this is a limitation from MS that should prevent users to run WinPE as a normal system.

    what driver do you want to compile? A Sample from the ddk?

    that's right. without the prefetcher my Windows shows a half progessbar and than the Welcome page and thedesktop, but when prefetcher is enabled I see the progessbar 6 times and the boottime increase a lot

    no, you have to do a silent install of R2. use your R2-Key to install Win2k3 and you don't hve to enter the key while installing R2.
